Do any of you have problems smiling, using your face for normal social interaction?

    That is not something I have ever heard anyone complain about, of the hundreds of people with PMR or GCA I have come across.

    Is your doctor having problems deciding what you have?

    Are you asking us because you have symptoms that could be PMR? Have the doctor's considered you might have Parkinson's disease? That often appears as stiffness of the face muscles so that you don't register emotions either and stiffness in walking.

    Myasthenia Gravis which is another auto immune disease affects facial muscles. A friend of mine has it and is on pred. I think it is quite rare though.
