Facial pressure linked to nose?

Posted , 1 user is following.

hey folks

I'm wondering if anybody can help me. I have been having ongoing nasal issues with the past few years.

Its hard to describe but I intermittently get like a pressure feeling directly below my eyes on the cheeks. It feels like somebody is pressing on it. its not numb as I have stuck pins in my face to test it (yes this is how much it irritates me) but it feels like it could be numb. This can then lead to tingles in my forehead and jawline. Not painful but extremely annoying. It can last for hours. There is days and weeks where I get no symptoms at all and then this week I’ve had it for most of the week.

I’ve saw multiple ENT’s. they have looked up my nose, sinus’s are clear.

Nose is pretty crooked inside due to a few breaks and I had an operation on my nose years ago (some part of my nose was partially blocking the nostril and op removed it and left me with a slight dip on the bridge of my nose).

ENT dr’s put me on steroids as they thought it was allergic rhinitis but they never helped.

Paid privately for an ENT consultation who saw a polyp and put me on strong steroids to get rid of it. Still no better.

Amiltriptaline to see if it is nerve pain. Nope.

Anti depressant as it may be sinus headaches. Nope. MRI for an acoustic neuroma. Nope.

I have recently got a CT scan done and I see the ENT in August again. ENT pretty much expects it to be clear and is then going to refer me to neurology.

Now weirdly I can kinda alleviate the symptoms by either wearing a snoring strip which opens my nasal air ways or if I flare my nostrils and take big deep breaths through my nose. I have told this to each ENT (the last one was a Mr and the head consultant who ran the clinic) and they have all looked baffled.

Has anybody any ideas as to what it could be or anything I could try to help?

Steam didn’t help.

Showers don’t help.

Sleeping with a humidifier didn’t help.

Any help or a cure greatly appreciated

Thanks

Chris
