Facing Cancer

Hello,

I am 15 years old, a female. About 9 weeks ago I noticed a lump behind my ear. I thought it was nothing so I iced it for about a week and the swelling just continued.

I got worried and decided to tell my mom and she set up an appointment to see a pediatrician. She's an RN and thought it might be Mastoiditius. When I was doing a bit of research I thought it was Mono.

Another lump formed just under the first one. They were about 1cm by 1cm and the pediatrician thought that it was also Mono. The odd thing was I didn't have a cold, no stuffy or runny nose- no sore throat, the lymph nodes didn't hurt.  I had a fever and I was really tired almost like the flu but without the flu (if that makes sense).

I got a script for antibiotics, an ultrasound as well as a follow up.

When I went through the run of antibiotics- they did nothing. The lymph nodes were a bit larger. My ultrasound didn't confirm much other than my lymph nodes were swollen. One on my neck started to form and it was solid and immobile. I started to get some under my jaw as well.

I had a follow up and was ordered to get some blood work done to test for the Epstein Barr Virus, which came back negative. I just recently had a follow up and they're ordering another ultrasound and a CT scan. It's been 9 weeks and nothing is getting better.
