Failure of Stitch Removal Part 2

Posted , 5 users are following.

Update to my post of last week.

I went back to the hospital this morning to see if the hospital staff have better luck than at my drs surgery.

Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of 3 different nurses, I have still got all my stitches!

I am seeing the surgeon next week for my post op review and will

speak to him about the stitches then.

Oh no....seems mad, and I feel sorry for you...... Good luck with your surgeon next week. (I never saw mine again, just bumped into him by chance at about 5 months post op. Just saw various other doctors.)

Oh my goodness, that is terrible, they must be pulling on your skin?

They don't seem to be.  I have a long piece of nylon thread attached to my leg.  I'm more concerned about the fact that, unless the surgeon decides differently, the stitches will just be left it!

Thank goodness they're not pulling, I know my staples were, and it was wonderful to have them removed.

Chloe, this is awful for you, I was lucky I had dissolvable stitches but they did take around 4 weeks to finally go, whereby another older lady wit a different surgeon had staples.7 They each have their own style. Some years ago I had hand surgery a month after the stitches were removed and they were difficult to remove. A month or so later I had a lump in my hand and it was black in the centre, went to A&E and they finally removed it, it was a stitch left in. Hope yours decided to come out when you see the surgeon.
