Hi Bethia
I looked up the side effects of metronidazole. It said:
Metronidazole side effects may include:
stomach pain, diarrhea;
dizziness, loss of balance;
nausea, vomiting;
vaginal itching or discharge;
dry mouth or unpleasant metallic taste;
cough, sneezing, runny or stuffy nose; or
swollen or sore tongue.
So it could possibly be a side effect of the medication. However I have known of quite a few people who have either fainted or come over faint on getting up. They were told this was due to a sudden drop in blood pressure for various reasons. When I get up I make a point of swinging my legs over the side of the bed, then just sitting there for a few seconds. When I'm ready I get up slowly. Fortunately for me there is something handy to grab nearby.

Hi felinia, well that's a mix bag not sure which one is worse, the side effects of tablets or symptoms of diverticulitis.

I am just getting over an attack, this time the side effects from the antibiotics prevented me from going to work, I am the manager of a charity shop and on my feet all day, bending and lifting. The dizzyness wouldn't be so bad if I was sitting at a desk all day!

I try my best to try to make it not take over my life I grit my teeth swear at it then go to work like I'm on a mission, but having said that my first intro to it was what the doctor called severe as I was layed up two weeks in bed couldn't even move took three days to walk, never mind the pain.
I just don't want a re run if I can help it, I'm on water, sloppy portage and soup.and trying not to lose another stone in eleven days like last time or I won't need a key to my home I just go in via letterbox .....
