I just got my results back today about an outbreak i had about 3 weeks ago and i was told to have BV, a yeast infection, and Genital Herpes, she did the swab test, but i dont know how accurate it is considering when i tried to ask questions about the test i couldnt get any answers. The nurse told me she could only give me my results so i dont know what to think or how to go about this.

if the swab detected herpes, then you have herpes. it cant detect something that is not there. theres times when the test isnt 100% accurate, and that's only when the sore was swabbed too late, and the fluid (which contains the virus) has dried up. Then you can get a false negative. you cannot get a false positive with a swab. that only happens with blood tests. you've also had sores as well which look like herpes. a lot of women get bv and yeast infections with their outbreaks. you will be ok and you're still able to live a normal healthy life
