false positive for hsv2??

Took only a blood test for std. Came positive for hsv2. Never presented any symptoms of herpes yet I am told many are asymptomatic and will not know they have it. Doctor told me that the blood test is very inaccurate and said that I should not worry if I do not have any bumps or painful spots in the genital region. However it has been eating me alive. When I called about the diagnosis another doctor said that the blood test IS ACCURATE and there is nothing I can do. I am scared beyond fathoming and I do not want to pass something to my partner. Should I take another test?? I have never had any bumps asides from when I shave and that is it. I have never had painful bumps or intense itching.

edit: i am considering purchasing a herpes test to take at home, can anyone vouch for the validity of these kits?

      If I were you, I'd look into getting a western blot test. the western blot is very accurate and you truly might be stressing yourself out for nothing. its worse being in this limbo.

      ive not seen much on the western blot besides that only one place can do it and it is very pricey; do you know of any accurate alternatives?
