Famous People With ME

Having a quiet day today, and have just read an interesting short article.
Both Charles Darwin and Florence Nightingale suffered, by the sound of it, from ME.
'For much of his adult life Charles Darwin's illness repeatedly affected him with an uncommon combination of symptoms, leaving him severely debiiitated for long periods of time, incapable of normal life and intellectual production, staying in bed most of the time for months. He wrote 'constant attacks makes life an intolerable bother and stops all work'.
For many years Florence Nightingale was bedridden and her birthday is now celebrated as the International CFS Awareness Day.
So we are in good company

Anna was induced six weeks early due to problems and I ended up having a high forceps delivery after a 52 hour labour
I was black and blue from the waist down and had about a hundred internal and external stitches ..... still makes my eyes water to think about it :yikes:
No wonder I only had one child
Teedie, it's funny what you say about the nurse :nurse: emoticon ..... I can never find her for ages either ..... think she must be off on her rounds

Child 2 like you Dale, something else we have in common, was a ventouse delivery and episiotomy. He was 9lbs 10oz. Ouch! :o The midwife actually cried when he was born as they gave me such a hard time, not realising how big he was.
Child 3 just slipped out at a mere 7lbs 6oz. No stitches.
What have we started

Child 2 - 5 days overdue, 4 hours delivery - 8lb 2oz
Child 3 - 13 days overdue. Unfortunately, went into labour twice in one day ....
Hubby arrived home at 0330 from a flight from the Falklands, went into labour an hour later, midwives arrived (as a home birth was planned) confirmed everything was going strong - everything stopped at midday. Doctor arrived - don't worry we will let you go for another 2 days and then will take you in and induce!!
1700 she started again, midwife arrives - sorry can't bring you any gas & air, I am pregnant and can't carry it!! She arrived an hour and 50 mins later - 7lb 10oz.
She has spent the rest of her life with her brothers complaining that her crying interupted their episode of Knight Rider - which has never been shown to this day....
