Fast heart rate after a night of drinking

Yesterday night I drank one bottle of champagne over the course of 5 hours (it was during wrestlemania). This was from around midnight until 5 in the morning.

I woke up at noon and didn't have a hangover but instead I had this very high resting heart rate of 100 bpm. It is now almost 8PM, which is almost 20 hours after I stopped drinking and the heart rate is still this high. It sometimes shoots up to around 120 bpm and sometimes dips to 95.

I know for a fact that I can handle a lot of alcohol. I used to drink a bottle of vodka in a night without having this effect and I also drank often, sometimes multiple days in a row. I've dialed back my alcohol consumption since then but I am 100% sure that I should be able to handle a bottle of 11% alcohol bubble wine.

I did not take any other drugs but I took a 10mg Loratadine tablet which I take against my hay fever. The champagne we had was also very old, maybe up to 11 years.

My question is should there be cause for concern or is this a rare harmless kind of hangover? Thanks for your help.

Well I assume by now you have recovered from this and hopefully learned a lesson to look after yourself better.
