Fast heartbeat/heart palpitations for three days straight

Hello, age 16 here. Sorry if my english is not that good, it's not my first language. So since three days ago i've been having a faster heartbeat than normal, and I could feel it pounding my chest like a drum. It started happening after I took some pain killers, which was part of a doctor prescription. Little did I know I only had to take them if I was in real pain (and I wasn't, still the doctor said to take them daily) Heart palpitations started occurring an hour after that and I struggled to sleep for two hours. I went to the doctor the next day to do a check up and she said I'm fine and that I have nothing to worry about. Still, it still hasn't stopped and it varies from time to time. It's really scary, especially now since I'm fairly young. I just want to be happy sad

Hey man hope I didn't get your message to late. I know how scary it is when your heart starts acting weird. I suffer from health anxiety and constantly think something is wrong with me. I convinced myself I had every cancer under the sun. Although I'm no doctor anxiety can sneak up in many ways even when you don't think you're feeling anxious. Have you been stressed about the pain? Maybe feel a little light headed? I would definitely consult your physician about this problem, but stress and anxiety can most definitely do this to your heart. It can also convince yourself that you're having a heart attack. There are a lot of breathing except uses to get you through attacks like this. Breathe in for 4 seconds/ hold your breath for two seconds/ and release breath for 3 seconds. I hope this helps man.

It's scary for me because I'm constantly aware of my fast heartbeat. It gets even worse when I'm trying to sleep for some reason or just laying down. It's only been three days and I hope that I don't have to go through this for years and years, you know. I'm already dealing with a lot of anxiety, and this is only going to fuel it.

I completely understand. I too got caught up constantly feeling my heart beat. When it would finally slow down I would freak out because I didn't feel my heart which would again make me have a panic attack. You're young and a heart failure is about the last thing that should be worrying you. I'd encourage you to go talk to a therapist if it continues. Also keep yourself busy so you're not constantly monitoring your heart. Trust me you will get over this

I take painkillers, and depending what they have been prescribed for you may get headaches and possible palpitations. This is caused by a possible Anxiety.

Why are you taking pain medications ? It sounds like a variable dose ?.
