Hi Michael, what drugs is your father taking?  Restless legs can be caused by a lot of drugs and maybe if they changed some, your father would be more comfortable.

Have you read the leaflet on this site?  https://patient.info/health/restless-legs-syndrome-leaflet  It might be helpful

Hiya,Mrs mop, thanks for your reply, father is waiting for a 'uss direct injection' in his hip(steroid)doctors think it might becoming from that . but that doesn't solve the pain while he's waiting . he's on ORAMORTH slow release pills at the moment, still gets the spasms . He had a stroke about 7 months ago,so he's on a few pills, but because of the spasms and pain,he cant do his physiotherapy, hence the injection, doctors don't seem to realise the excruciating pain he has, while he's waiting.

Doesn't really sound like RLS, maybe a strong muscle relaxer might help?

Also when I get spasms/chronic cramps like that, I go see an accupressure therapist, it is not accupuncture, what they do is they take a small needle and put it inside the muscle center, to defuse the spasming.
