Hi Judy, I understand because I have been resting all week.  I don't even have the energy to scream.  Did you do too much this week?  I hope you rest and pace yourself as it does help.  Good luck on your journey.  Regards Pat

Thanks Pat,  it's so difficult to try and stay positive...  I hate giving in or believe this is happening.  I know, " what makes me think I'm so special".   I just want to trust that this will go away and that the doctors know what to do... But I guess medicine is not perfect or knows everything.

My friends are going to a meeting this morning and I can't push myself to go....

For the first time since being diagnosed with GCA 18months ago, I am feeling totally physically exhausted. Had to shop this morning and have done absolutely nothing since except lie in the conservatory, dozing off every few minutes. My body feels unable to do any thing that requires movement of any sort. I feel so stupid and almost guilty as I know there are lots suffering more than I am.

Hello judy. fatigue  as been with me from 15mg pred now down to IMG. I put it down to ped & adrenles, but after pushing for a full B/test it turns out that i am low on iron, so now going through scans etc to find the cause..i have had the time team proding & probing top&Bottom.still waitng for results.its is a not so funny journy but i try to stay positive.i think somtimes we have to push ourselfs to join in with with the normal activets with family etc if not it just becomes a life of meds & not much else,i have just been out with family+ young ones had super time, now time to rest, hence on laptop.i wish you all the best for your journey just to add dont let it drive you into the ground.Dave

Must be the moon! I am also absolutely fagged out. Woke up feeling brain fogged and shakey after quite a good day yesterday. I hate it when all my plans go haywire because I feel too stuffed to do anything.

It does seem to get worse at full moon when I also get water retention badly.

I am just going to rest today and hope it passes. Unfortunately I have to wait for some visitors who seem to have got lost before I can put my feet up.

Only just found my way out of the 'fog'!  I did wake up last night and think 'it's very bright' - there was a full moon and cloudless sky.

      Hi Christine!!

I've picked up on what you said about water retention,, I feel the same sometimes and have been thinking to take water tablets to hopefully relieve this, but am wondering if they would effect the pred in any way?? Have you ever tried taking water tablets yourself?? Thank you Andrea xx

Yes last November but only because my legs had swelled to tree trunk size after doc gave me wrong heart medicine. It worked quickly and I keep some for emergencies... Full moons always make me retain water and supermoons really screw me up!

One of the things that helps with fluid retention is cutting carbs - they tend to hold on to water in your muscles along withthe glycogen they become for storage in muscles.

I had some trouble with water retention in my feet and ankles and went for one session of manual lymph drainage - one because he started with the worse leg and within a few days both legs were back to normal and I've not had any trouble since. Definitely worth a try - no side effects!
