Fatigue

hi hippies,
I had my right total uncemented hip replacement just 4th February.
now I know it takes a long recovery ( I had a left THR in 2016).
but though I have been home a few days now I am finding it really hard to cope with the fatigue.
I am snoozing only one or two hour periods because have to keep going to pee.
I dont think I have a UTI because have no cystitis type symptoms or difficulty passing urine. However I did have a catheter post op for two nights due to post operative retention.
Today I have taken an over the counter stat dose of oral fluconazole for PV thrush which I am certain is from when I had the catheter in.
My pain is varied and managing this by use of Paracetamol, Ibruprofen , coedeine 30/60mg.
I have tried to use the analgesia around one thing every two hours so pain free most of the time. The worst has been that in evening I have had nerve pain excruiating nerve pain in the right thigh and knee. That responds best to cold and the large dose codeine.
Iam eating small bits food. Fluids good.
I just would appreaciate any top tips thus far to refresh my memory of the things you may have found helped in the early days.?
Thankyou.Ange aged 60.

don't worry your body will heal all by itself. Relax, let it, don't try and hurry it, not to be to concerned worry about any symptoms now, they are almost certainly temporary
Control discomfort, rest elevate ice & take your pain medications by prescription schedule (not when pain starts!)
Do what you want to do & if it hurts, don't do it and don't allow anyone ....especially a physical therapist to do it to you. If your leg swells more or gets stiffer in the few hours after doing it, don't do it again.
PT or exercise can be useful all slowly and sensibly post op therapy not necessary . All hips heal on there own time.
Post op blues happens normal. Most of all a fav chocolate snack helps too..
see more info on patient .
