Fatigue and Anxiety ruining my life

So I am a 22 year old female. I have suffered from severe anxiety for 3 years but haven't had any attacks in about a year. However, a little over a week ago after a period of a lot of stress, I woke up exhausted. This is unusual for me as I sleep at least 8 hours every night and even on lack of sleep I function quite well. But this time that was not the case. Each day my fatigue got worse and worse to the point where I could sleep all day every day if allowed. During the day if I even close my eyes I will fall asleep. This has caused my anxiety to go insane. I now also experience frequent urination, constant diarrhea, shakiness and nonstop ringing in my ears. It got so bad I went to the ER and they said all my blood and vitamin levels looked amazing. I was a bit dehydrated and they diagnosed me with a UTI. They assured me that it was very possible for a UTI to make me feel totally drained since it is an infection and I've had it untreated for a while. I started my antibiotics last night but I still feel like a zombie today. This is really starting to effect me. All I do is cry and want to stay in bed. I force myself to go out but I am miserable and on the verge of falling asleep. I am so scared that it's MS. I really can't live like this any more and any advice is appreciated.

sorry to hear this. if youre dealing with any kind of infection it really can wipe you out. did anything big happen right before this started? job change, house change, etc? it could also be adrenals or thyroid.

My long term boyfriend and I almost broke up (everything is great now) and I'm an artist and was definitely overworking myself with commissions and eating once a day if that. It's been a few weeks since then and I've made major dietary changes with no luck 😕

try to relax cos it might actually be UTI and the antibiotics will take care of that. I also experience frequent urination when I am anxious but all my other symptoms centre around the heart.

Hello, Unsure whether you've been prescribed anything for the anxiety but this in itself i've found with a combination of depression also is physically draining. Constantly feeling lethargic is very frustrating too. As yourself I can very easily sleep all day long without any problem whatsoever although I don't want to (unless feeling down which granted can be the case). Anyway what i'd say is please try not to worry as much (without wanting to sound like a hypocrite as this is what I do day in day out) and ask your G.P. what they can suggest will help relieve your anxiety and lethargy. Let a close friend know what you are going through as no doubt they would not like to think of you being low like this. Good luck.
