Fatigue, fever and muscle ache, but NO cough, sore throat or runny nose

I have been experiencing some rather odd symptoms lately, and would like some advice on what the underlying cause might be.

It started last Friday with a profound sense of fatigue, but not really any other symptoms. The next day I woke up with significant muscle ache in most of my body, as if I had worked out (which I had not done). The fatigue was even worse than the day before, and during the afternoon and evening I also had a light fever (at most 39 degrees Celsius or around 102 degrees Fahrenheit). From Sunday onwards I have not had any fever, but I am still quite tired and I still have some muscle ache.

I have tested negative for covid on both antigen and PCR tests, so I do not think that I have had covid. I guess it could have been the flu or a cold instead. However, I have NOT had a cough, a sore throat or a runny nose, which to me suggests that a cold or the flu would be somewhat unlikely explanations.

Any other suggestions for what might explain the above symptoms?

    could it be mono?

      Thanks for your attention!

I do not know much about mono, but from what I could find online the virus causing mono (Epstein-Barr) typically spreads through contact with saliva. While it cannot be completely ruled out, it is unlikely that I have come in contact with someone else's saliva, much less that of an infected person.

Altogether I would say it probably is not mono, but I will keep it mind.

I am sorry to hear that.

I am better, thanks. Mostly I am a bit tired, but I also have some muscle ache.

I am still very curious, though, about what the cause might be. I am a bit worried that it was not an infection, but rather something endogenous. However, I still do not know what it might have been

mono is tricky but you can get it in a lot of ways but if you still keep feeling bad try doing a blood test for mono just so you have a peace of mind . it could just be some random cold, or allergies if you have them.
