Fatty liver and extreme weight gain

Hello, thanks in advance for your time and attention. My mother has been experiencing the following complaints for several months:

1. over-fatigue, she has to lie in bed and sleep regularly to get through the day. Night rhythm is fine, even then she sleeps. So there is no question of a twisted sleep rhythm, but it is double up.

2. pain in right side of the abdomen, to such an extent that this prevents her from walking and functioning normally

2. extreme, inexplicable weight gain at a rapid pace, despite correct nutrition and sufficient exercise

3. belly expands, this not only occurs after consuming food or drink, but also occurs spontaneously

After analyzing the complaints in combination with diet and exercise, no pattern has been detected. Experimenting with various dietary patterns, a lot of exercise and also laxatives has had no influence at all on the weight gain.

An ultrasound has been made, which showed that she has fatty liver , but this should cause weight loss, instead of extreme increase. The general practitioner suspects that overweight is probably a cause, while weight gain clearly is a consequence of a still unknown condition. The complaints also arose simultaneously.

Whenever someone gets an idea in which direction the cause might be, I would really like to hear this. Thanks in advance.

Fatty liver can cause pain by stretching "Glisson's Capsule" and fatigue through disruption of glucagon homeostasis.

Fatty liver is caused more by sugar consumption, particularly high fructose corn syrup in sodas or fructose in fruit juice.

The "PIVINS trial" showed Vitamin-E helpful with fatty liver, & some doctors are embracing therapy with Vitamin-E.  Lecithin from eggs (the lecithin is in the yolk) or a lecithin supplement has also been shown helpful in resolving fatty liver disease.  Tea and coffee (unsweetened of course!) are both well known liver tonics, so an increased consumption of these may also be helpful.

Keep pestering those doctors till you get to the bottom of this, & hope she sees improvement soon!
