The liver doesn't have nerve endings, which is why it can't detect pain and damage being done. The pain must be coming from somewhere else, maybe related though.

It's amazing how well the liver can recover. Stop drinking, take any medication given, eat healtily, hydrate and exercise.

It does take more than a few days. I know it sounds hard, but you really will have to wait for the tests. If you've not been drinking for nine years, the chances are your liver won't be too bad. However, they will probably recommend some medication and lifestyle choices. Try not to think about it and you will have the results soon. there are so many things the pain could be, like kidney stones.

People always say that fatty liver is reversiable, but what i found is that for some people it is harder then others.

You should wait for the test before scaring yourself too much. Find out what is causing the pain and i am sure there is a way to get it treated.

If it is just fatty liver, and adjusting diet is not helping you to improve your liver funciton (improve ALT/ AST level), maybe you can look into other milk thistle to help your liver to recover.

The normal ALT levels might varies among different comuntry or labs. Usually normal range is under 40, some would set the normal range for woman a bit lower may be at 35.

It is common to see normal range at anything from 35~55.

If your ALT level is at 29. it is completely fine. You dont need any medications and mornitoring the ALT level and impore on diet should be ok.
