Fear of narcolepsy

I'm scared! I do have sleepiness during the day. I've never fainted, even when I've been awake for 24 hours. Never ever fainted in my life for any reason. I'm 23, and I'm obsessing over this. Yesterday I took a nap, because I fell alseep at 4am, woke up at 8am to do something. I took a nap and experienced dreams, from like a 30-40 min nap! Yeah yeah, I can't control it. Even if I had it, but just the thought of that horrible illness makes me affraid. Some of the symptoms are there as well. Sometimes I do feel like im going to pass out from tiredness, but never happens. It did happen this 1 time, but I was extremely, extremely tired from not sleeping. I Slept for like 20 hours the day after. That was 6 years ago. I'm not putting a lot of stress into this, because if it was true, then all my other self diagnosis would be true as well, and they haven't been true so far. Still though, just a little concerned of another thing that can potentially ruin my life.

I do the same thing you are doing. I keep thinking specific things are wrong with me and when they aren't my mind moves on to the next thing it could be and I hate it. The main thing I'm trying to focus on now is dealing with the stuff I actually have and trying not to think about the what if it could be this or that or what if this turns into that. I'm working on it even though it's difficult.

Yeah that's about it. My mind keeps going in circles. Depression, insomnia, schizo, bipolar, narcolepsy it's messed up. I've just said whatever. If a disease ruins my life, so be it. I'll just be babied forever. I might go to a jail mental hospital just to leave my family alone if I do turn crazy. Like the movie said "what's a better OUTCOME? To die a hero, or to live as a monster" not ever going to kill myself, my the burden won't fall on family. I oviously won't kill anyone, just something dumb like steal a bunch of motorcycles.

I would say the effects are of over tiredness rather than narcolepsy. Try doing some exercise to relax such as yoga or pilates and see whether you go to sleep earlier in the evening. Take a bath to relax yourself could be an alternative idea

See it as a blessing. Insomnia is much worse.

Naw, I'd prefer insomnia than this. Never being able to drive or ride a motorcycle, not doing my job due to it being super dangerous and requires 100% of my attention, and can't being doing that while falling asleep randomly! It's a life destroyer! I'll get a sleep study done... maybe tomorrow. Hopefully I come out okay.
