Feel about 80 years old at just 25?!

**I'll start off by saying that I've had an incurable chronic pelvic pain condition since I was 15, so this contributes to how tired I feel as I'm in pain 24/7 - I do not want advice on this pain.** I also get bad back pain, and pain in the sciatic area, have ibs and anxiety. I do what I can to control those.

However this year I feel like an old woman. I've always had good skin and hair, even through puberty, but I'm suddenly really spotty and my skin is oily as hell. This began after coming off the pill around 11 months ago, however I never had this issue in the first place before 1.5 years on the pill, so I assumed it would be temporary, but it's not easing up. My hair suddenly started going grey/white (there's more than just a couple!) and is way more oily. My scalp burns and has very fine dandruff/dry scalp - currently trying nizoral - still not got to the bottom of whether its yeast or dryness. I had a bad time with perioral dermatitis (that lingers and still sometimes comes out around my mouth) and also a problem with malasezzia yeast (seborrhoeic dermatitis) which made my forehead come out in hundreds of tiny bumps, my eyebrows flake with dry skin and around my nose go all red and peel. All that on top of actual spots.

I get terrible pains in my elbows and knees, especially when they have been bent for a while. My whole body aches every day and I'm so so so exhausted, yet struggle to get a good nights sleep. My fingers and toes get so cold they actually hurt/go numb.

Even my teeth have suddenly gone very dull and greyish when they've always been reasonably white.

I just feel like my whole body is giving up on me this year. Already in pain every day of my life and now all the things that were working fine seem to be going rapidly downhill. I get so stiff all over it hurts to get up and am constantly absolutely shattered. I have always been a bit scatty but in the last couple of months I've actually completely forgotten things like how to use the washing mahine I've had for 5 years and directions to places - complete blanks for days until it comes back to me.

I've asked about a couple of these things at the doctors, particularly the elbow and knee pain, and they just look at me blankly or palm me off with creams so I've given up. I haven't mentioned all of it because they will just look at me like I'm a hypochondriac, which I'm certainly not, I've dealt with health problems for years but now it's all just getting too much.

Could I be lacking in something? I take vitamin d supplements every day, fish oil, sometimes vitamin b and eat an ok diet. I don't have caffeine - mainly drink water all week. What the hell is going on? This time last year if you'd have told me I would be going grey at 25 I would have laughed! (my mother didn't get greys until she was nearly 50). I've had blood tests in the past which have never shown up thyroid issues. I should also mention I have regular treatments in hospital (which would not contribute to any of these things) and they always comment that my blood pressure is low and get concerned, but the gp always says it's ok!

I've had blood tests for my immune system as I get ill a lot but nothing flagged up other than slightly low vit d. I can post in each separate section but was hoping someone would be able to look at my situation as a whole and share some ideas.

Help?!

I'm a 36 year old male going through something similar for the past 2 years . What I have found regarding GPS is they just don't seem interested or have any understanding of my condition. They are all the same , just looking an easy days work and if someone comes in to there office with symptoms or conditions they don't know about they will nearly always just give the wrong diagnosis or throw the magic steroid cream at you! They never just say I don't know what this is because then they look like a crap doctor. I'm not sure where u are from but I'm from the UK and trying to get referred to specialists sometimes is like getting blood from a stone. I feel completely let down and abandoned by the medical industry. Its either some form of Virus , Bacteria , infection that is not showing up on normal testing .

?I have looked at possible causes and discussed these with my doctor who sat there looking out the window .

You are going to have to keep pressing and seeing different doctors in the hope that one will finally help you to narrow it down and diagnose you , or be able to send you to a specialist who can .

?I went from a bodybuilder in prime condition full bill of health to waking up one morning feeling like I got run over by a car and had aged 10 years over night ! I have had this red face rash that seemed to just appear and its worse when I pass stool or urinate ... like it really flares up . I have had this pain in my pelvic area which must be nerve related as my genital region goes ice cold ... . My skin on my face can get super dry and flaky and red . my blood pressure has dropped a fair bit .. listen I could go on and on here but ill leave it at that .

?Best of luck and I hope someone can get to the bottom of it .

Thanks for your reply, I feel slightly less alone! So sorry to hear you are struggling too, it's such a shame GP's don't say "I don't know what this is, but let's come up with some possibilities and rule a few things out" instead of just dismissing us. I am in the U.K. too so I completely understand GP attitudes and how hard it is to get anywhere. Thanks again for your advice, I will just keep trying natural remedies until I can think of how to get somewhere with the doc. I wish I had some advice for your problems, I know tonnes about female pelvic issues but am not sure with male. I wonder if you could ask to be referred to a pelvic pain specialist, they treat men and women for problems like nerve issues. For referrals I always find my own specialists via google, write a letter to the GP saying I want to be referred to this person at this hospital because of 'x y z' and why I think they specifically could help more than the GP. It works! I'm in the Midlands and have managed to get referred on NHS to Manchester and London by doing this to get the treatment I need that isn't available here e.g infusions. Best of luck to you too, I hope you find atleast some relief from your health problems.

Hi Kay,I am not a doctor so can not say what causes your problems but If I was you I would definitely check the level of heavy metals in your body. They can cause all sort of symptoms from mild to severe. Unfortunately each of us has some heavy metals in our system, some more some less and sometimes we get away with it for many years until we start to feel unwell. There are lots of method of removing toxins and heavy metals from our body and I heard from few people that when they did it their health dramatically improved so I think it is worth checking.

Thanks so much for your reply, I really appreciate it. I don't believe doc has tested for that so I will request it next time I go in and do a bit of research on it. Thanks again smile

This is a condition when one has no interest in his life. To get out of such condition you must think positive. Go out meet with people talk with them. And you will see that your mood will get better. And you will enjoy the life.

Thanks for the advice but I lead a very busy life, I am in bad pain 24/7 but I go to work every day, care for a relative and see friends a lot, I barely get time to myself. It's not a mindset issue, I have more than one chronic illness which in itself tends to weaken the immune system regardless of how positively you think.

Have you asked your doctor about Lupus? I have a family member who had some of your symptoms for years and was misdiagnosed many times. They finally realized it was lupus. I know it isn’t curable but there is treatment to help with flare ups and can even get it in remission. Hope this helps.
