I was wondering if any one feels like they have a tyre around their middle on menopause like bloated I wouldn’t say my stomach is huge it’s just the feeling more .

I went into early meno been on hrt many years as 55 recently changed as had bleeding and just found out I am progesterone intolerant so I have stopped over 2 weeks as now under a consultant specialist as been on many hrt different progesterone s, I am just on patch oestrogen testogel awaiting a scan to check uterus again and go from there possible progesterone every 12 weeks does any one else have this I thought after stopping progesterone be it only 2 weeks I would feel less bloated , I also wee allot but then I do drink allot of water . Menopause cause all these side affect and more 😒xx

Hi Joanne... Yes I too can feel this way but not always. I'm on hrt 2mg ellest solo... I'd a hysterectomy 10 years ago so at times I don't know where I am.. I've still got my ovaries... Has the bloating only started since being on hrt? CK

That interesting as you had a hysterectomy I think tbh one probably feels more bloated than they look, I was on elleste but you could be on a patch be better for you as you only need oestrogen only so you may feel less bloated as I do think mine progesterone part of the hrt which you won’t have will you ? Are you using bioidentical HRT from a compound pharmacy? There’s a difference.

It was a prescription from a hrt nhs consultant and now my GP prescribes it, I was on the utrogestan but also been on different progesterone and at present I have been on the oestrogen and testogel as had awful side affects on the progesterone since July 2017 try 4 types all causing bad side affects so we have come to the conclusion with a private consultant it’s the progesterone ,as they don’t like you to be on oestrogen without progesterone if you have a womb , so we are trying to come up with a solution , I have a scan in 2 weeks to check uterus thickness again had 3 times in last 4 years all been fine , I had one done last year with biopsy as spotting on continuous hrt which they recomend after certain age as early menopause 37 now 55 and go from there if thickness is with the safe limits 5mm , I could possibly only take progesterone every 3 months to stop building up . Does get complicated 🤔at times doesn’t it getting the tight balance and we all individuals what works for one is not the same for another .

these forum great to swap and get idea but you really have to see a specialised consultant to get we’re you want to be x

Joanne, please make sure these are bioidentical hormones at the compound pharmacy. The others are synthetics! It makes a big difference, the bios are identical to our real hormones.  My menapause doc specialist will NOT prescribe synthetics.  Please look into it.
