I found out I had Herpes 2 a couple months ago my husband had an affair and that's how I got it since then he's been in denial when he gets mad at me he says 'How come I don't have any outbreaks or are you sure this didn't come from you? He see's me taking the Valtrex and he shows no emotions I show him the outbreaks and he says "looks like a hair bump to me " I feel disgusted I feel less of a woman I get outbreaks often I feel this burning sensation in my skin around my buttocks constantly I'm itchy around and in anus its just embarrassing  I'm depressed and I don't even look at myself I decided to join this site in hopes of someone helping me or just to vent Thanks

Olive leaf! Have you tried raw garlic cloves to eat daily?? Echinacea, honey, green tea, yes all those factors can be causing more outbreaks

I think it helps to eat it in yogurt goes down better and I chew parsley afterwards so I don't smell the garlic out my pores

Venting is good! Has your husband been tested? How were you diagnosed, as in which test type?

Hi FelizCastus all I know is that the gyno said you have genital herpes right now I'm so depressed And disgusted it doesn't matter I have it. I take the valrex and I still have outbreaks , I lost weight because of this too I read that certain foods will give you outbreaks so I don't even know why to eat anymore I'm vegan and I take some vitamins Thanks so much for hearing me out smile

Visual diagnoses are not always accurate, nor are the blood tests for herpes in particular. Knowing that, I would always want to find out the specifics of my diagnosis. In theory, you shouldn't be getting loads of outbreaks while on the meds daily. Also odd how your husband won't test.

The whole thing about certain trigger foods is largely bogus, by the way. You can eat what you want, just keep your diet healthy and balanced.

Yes, seriously. There is no overwhelming clinical evidence to support this whole high lysine, low arginine diet in actual human subjects with herpes. Not even lysine supplements. The top folk in HSV research nowadays no longer actively promote the above as a result (if indeed they ever did; not sure), only advising herpes carriers to eat a healthy and balanced diet. Arginine is important for the body and hard to avoid anyway, and too much lysine (I mean excessive amounts) isn't a good thing.

Your right almost every thing has arginine in it. When I start reading I was like how the hell do I avoid it. I do think it's mostly mental. I tell myself this wild caught fish is going to make me better because it's high in Lysine and I feel better!
