Feel like I have everything under control but...

I stopped seeing my therapist recently because we agreed I had improved. I was never medicated. I have extreme anxiety and depression but i have been able to manage how I deal with these.

Earlier this week I woke up at about 3am wide awake. I felt like I wasnt myself. I started calming myself as I do when I feel like an anxiety attack is setting in, but this disorienting dream feeling was very new to me. Later in the day I did a round of tests with my doctor. I still haven't received results but this feeling has reoccurred a few times throughout the week.

Im still very positive about getting beyond this which is why I'm kind of looking for a clue as to what is going on.

Did a little research into it. It certainly describes what I was feeling. The scary thing is how it's coming and going throughout my days. It's completely random.

Anxiety comes in all forms and at any time. You can get it toally randomly.

    Is this new for you?

Anxiety isn't anything new but these sensations I experience are new to me. I'm used to a more hopeless lost feeling or feeling like I'm dying. I would usually have what I considered and anxiety attack during my depression phases.

What I'm currently going through makes me feel nothing and just not myself but then I'll snap back like nothing happened.

Look into therapy for sure, it can really help. I've been in the same situation. When you have these moments of clarity where you feel like you're fine and you snap back, really understand how good those moments feel and feel reaching for that feeling. In the meantime, if you need anything, post on this forum or feel free to send me a PM.

Good luck and all the best!  [smile]

Got test results back and everything's normal.

I was considering calling my therapist to make an appointment but decided not to over the wknd. I found other things to focus on.

I'm starting to realize I have no control over this. Instead I'm just trying to understand what's happening and to not freak out.
