Over two years ago after really never going to the Drs I made a appointment after getting a virus at work and being really ill for two weeks I had a cough I was so tired I could have layed on the floor and fell asleep anywhere this went on for a few months, Dr sent me for heart scan, ECG, then blood test for everything just about, which revealed low serum ferritin she put me on iron supplement and antidepressant, said it could be the peri menopause, I went away thinking ok I will give it a try, felt horrendous side effects to the antidepressant but stuck with it. The fatigue has never got any better I also started with sinus problems. The ache in the bottom of my back just feels like a big knot tied so tight it eases a little once up and walking but it never goes away same pain in the back of my neck and shoulders if I press on these areas it hurts. Went back to Drs again had more bloods done iron was ok, still on iron tablets, but this time they said by vitamin d was a little low but this could be due to the weather, I'm getting really desperate now don't want to feel like this I feel it's ruining my life all I seem to do is go to work and sleep if I mow the lawn just doing the Norm I really pay for it the next day with the pain and tiredness just want my old life back I'm 46 years old and feel 60 years old don't know where to turn now don't feel the GP believes me could this be fibromyalgia please help xx

I had a bad fall about three years ago and a few months after the pain became so much worse and the exhaustion was so debilitating.
I was given antidepressants, the side effects were so bad I nearly lost my job. I was treated for a vitamin D deficiency but that didn't help either. I was only diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few months ago after 2.5 years of many visits to my doctor.
Your symptoms sound like fibromyalgia. Tell you doctor you want see a rheumatologist and have a full blood test (your rheumy will want to see your full bloods so best have it done before your appointment).
If I'd known I needed to see a rheumatologist (I had no idea what on earth was wrong with me at the time!) then I would have asked my Doctor as they didn't seem to have clue.
I really hope you find some answers soon.
Take care x
