Feel like I'm breathing through a straw

Does anybody feel like they are breathing through a straw? Like you can't get a full satisfying breathe into your lungs? Im due a respiratory appointment in a few weeks but so far all tests for any illnesses have come back clear I just find it a very strange sensation as it doesn't occur all the time.

Do you have it often? Mine can be ok for a few weeks and now for instance very bad like I struggle for air. I do wheeze a little but have been told I don't have asthma or copd. Xray clear also

Yes absolutely and at first it didn't occur all the time but now it has became constant I've always searching for a deep satisfying lung expanding breath yawning to get it sighing to get it's like my body needs it.

And my oxygen levels are always 97 to 100% oxygen I've been to a pulmonologist had test done been to the ER my family doctor they cannot find out what it is I've dealt with hypochondria and panic attacks and anxiety and phobias for years but this tops it all.

It has caused me to develop agoraphobia my life has literally flipped upside down I am afraid to drive on my own due to the air hunger I'm just terrified I tell myself everyday u could die any moment today

It's awful isn't it, do you feel it is in our minds as they can't prove otherwise. I wonder if its years of very bad breathing habits we have developed.

I'm happy that I have seen this as was starting to worry today about it. I know its anxiety . Had ecg.bloods .lung function test last year. And again it happens once every year. But the devil on my shoulder saying BUT what if it ain't anxiety this time.

Exactly my anxiety can be described as a devil on my shoulder perfect description it's always filling my head with doubt and what if thoughts it pretty much runs the show at the end of the day I am in charge of my actions but anxiety changes the way u think it messes with your confidence levels it is just negative thoughts and if I'm panicking I don't stop amd think I'm panicking or if I'm feeling symptoms I always think it's the end that I how the cycle continues I truly believe for years and years I've struggled and I'm Soo ready to move on with my life and leave this health anxiety in the past to go along with the symptoms that comes with it I truly believe despite the way I feel and think that if u believe in your mind something is wrong with you regardless if the symptoms are anxiety related u r gonna feel like total s**t and believe the way u r thinking I know the mind is powerful I just can't seem to come to grasp with this everyday I face death and it hasn't killed me yet

Go to you tube and search for Mindfulness breathing Guided meditation 10 minutes.  It’s great for teaching you how to manage your anxiety through proper breathing technique.   There are many more breathing meditations too.

Proper breathing is the key!  🌸🌸🌸😁

Hey, I have this every now and then. It's hard to convince yourself it's anxiety. I follow a guy on YouTube who is really clued up and I can relate too alot. His name is Trey Jones. And his video titled "10 things people with anixety do" I am sure will speak volumes to you and help.

Good luck in your recovery x
