Feel like I'm going to have a heart attack :(

For the last 3 days Iv had quite painful, constant chest pains. I suffer from severe health anxiety and it's been playing up really bad for the last 2/3 weeks. Iv seen the doctor twice this week and he's told me I'm not having a heart attack but I just don't believe him. The chest pains are worse in the evening but this is when my anxiety is at its worst anyway. Iv upped my dose of citalopram to 20mg per day again. Does anyone else get quite bad, constant chest pains with their anxiety?

Really struggling at the minute.

Yes I've had it for about 3 years! I've had approx 25 ECG's blood tests etc! It was either my heart or my head but I've had an MRI now on my brain & it came back clear so now I just worry about my heart! I still find it hard to believe that 'anxiety' causes my chest pain as sometimes I don't feel anxious at all then all of a sudden I get a random chest pain so yes know how you feel! X

I recently started to get pain and numbness on the left side of my head only and I am so worried and annoyed by it. Thinking I might have a tumor or blood clot god forbid

I'm 5 weeks postnatal and last week I spent the entire week in hospital having scans, x rays and blood tests done because they thought I had a blood clot on my lung but it all came back clear. It scares me to think that all these aches and pains we get are from anxiety sad I get a funny feeling in one side of my head too so you are not on your own xx

Its the torture of an anxiety attack. Your body keeps shooting adrenaline off and the heart the major reciever.

This was the biggest issue I have with anxiety. Fearing heart problems. My father passed away from a cardiac arrest and that is what triggers my anxiety bad. And I have chest pains. I can touch the area where my chest literally hurts at. And it's usually on the left side. I too had several echo cardiograms, chest X-rays, blood work and ekgs. Thank god I am ok but it's still very scary

It's a kind of tight pressure in the centre of my chest and it keeps going in to my right arm. It's doing it right now while I'm trying to sleep! I feel like I'm going crazy. I'm only 26, a non smoker, usually fit and well and yet I'm still convinced I'm having a heart attack. Especially because of dr google 🙄 Thank you for your replies. It's of some comfort that I'm not alone xx

I would be a hipocrite to tell you to stay away a from google I am guilty of it as well.

You are not alone I have had the same symptoms and I promise you will be ok. What sucks is trying to get rid of the actual anxiety that causes the chest oain
