I'm thinking of going to out of hour doctors but I don't know whether too or not today I've gone from chest pain vertigo to sharp head pains to vertigo nausea .

I then went out to take the kids to cinema I felt fine I was eating popcorn ect then all a sudden I got yawning attacks and I thought it was from the Dark room qhen we left the cinema I yawned about 15 times in the taxi and now I'm home I'm still doing it feels as though not enough air gets in so I think that's where the yawning is coming from I also have difficulty swallowing again this has been coming back randomly on and off since 23rd febuary now 😧.

My chest feels sort of heavy and achy and I feel like im going to yawn even when I don't and my breathing kind of Sighs /jumps it's very difficult to breathe normal anyways I then started getting racing heart when I stood up after worried about the two symtoms yawning excessive and unable to swallow properly I then Googled that came up with mnd which really worried me because that's another thing I thought I had and I did not know it can effect your lungs first as I have shortness of breathe undiagnosed then now this swallowing problem and all these weird symtoms I have the doom feeling so I know im starting to make my anxiety on a hype and when I breathe it's weird and making a very low kinda whistling / like when you breath against something everytime I walk now my heart races I have been fighting these thoughts a lot recently although it seems to make the symtoms stay longer or not bother them at all and they stay

Allergic reaction? Is there shellfish oil they put on popcorn?  Think back on the times you've had this and see if there's a particular food you've eaten before an attack. Also adult onset asthma is something to rule out.  My friend got this in her early 30s.

I feel like giving you a good shake as you're doing exactly the same things I did,I also feared MND/ALS. I've lost count the amount of illnesses I thought I had,and I never got one of them, except anxiety that is. Stephx, you've got anxiety, nothing else, you'll drive yourself crazy if you don't stop torturing yourself.

What have you done to help combat your anxiety?

I tried cbt it worked a little at first then started to not believe a word that she said lol so I tried meds when I had a bad reaction doctors told me Its not worth the side effects I was getting so then I started a diary to calm myself down it also takes my mind off the situation because as I wrote my symtoms I start to get into the writing more than my symtoms which is great for a while lol then I started telling myself stop been silly and it worked for a week I still had symtoms but they started all over again stronger as I tell myself I'm ok my cbt worker told me that I might find a way to control it but I will never get rid of anxiety which I think maybe that's why I started to think there's no point in it anymore I have read health anxiety books too have you really been through the als/mnd ect thing it's awful it's one of the fears that's the hardest to get rid of I have others in between but this one sticks xx

Hi, just reading the threads don't know if you've contacted out of hours of not but just thought I'd let you know that constant yawning can also be an aura before migraine attack. I noticed that I used to yawn all day before the other symptoms started don't know why. Sometimes I used to get migraine without the one sided headache, could havd visual disturbance or dizziness.

Hope your feeling a bit better now but don't worry so much it's really not worth it.

ALS has to be the cruelest illness God gave us,I was terrfied of it. I still won't watch movies about neurological disorders or someone dying of cancer,it's not that I fear them anymore,I just don't like sad movies. I must have had about 5 or 6 symptoms that are associated with ALS but I never had it. Do you switch from one illness to another? One minute I would have MS,next it would be Parkinsons, then I'd have a brain tumor,it was ridiculous.I look back and think, what an idiot I was. I went to counselling, but he was an idiot,he asked me what my biggest fear was,I said dying and my baby daughter not knowing who I was,he replied what difference would that make to you you'll be dead. I stopped going after that.I tried hypnotherapy, what a load of garbage that was. The truth is Stephx,I cured myself.I stopped taking meds (I only took them for 3 months, they didn't affect my mood whatsoever),stopped going the doctors, and quit googling my symptoms, and I reckon it took between 4-6 months to feel normal again. There's no silver bullet solution for anxiety, you've got to take the bull by the horns and convince yourself that anxiety is the sole reason for you feeling so shïte.

Hi I hate the visual disturbance, I simetimes see orange light, it red patches on walks & get the flashing white circles or zig zags with purple aura, scary when ur driving and the sun brings one on. I blame everything on hormones, they dictate our moods & well being.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend ! X

Contrary to expectation, yawning isn't the body's way of increasing oxygen. According to studies, yawning helps to stimulate andawaken the body in situations where we have to stay awake or alert. it would make sense then that yawning would be associated with anxiety as we get more nervously aroused and alert to possible (imagined) threats. With the racing heart and the worrying about your symptoms you may have just made yourself a bit anxious. Reminder: the symptoms of anxiety though uncomfortable,  are perfectly safe and can do you no harm whatsoever. I hope this helps.

Yes, it's difficult to get it into our thick heads! ha ha but it is true. You can come to no harm from anxiety. It is a perfectly safe and natural response to an imagined threat. Try to relax or distract yourself. Even if you dont, you wont come to any harm anyway. Hugs
