Feel Throat Constricting/Burp Trapped/Pain/Regurgitated Liquid

This is very scary. I've gotten this sensation over the years usually after I've eaten something fried, heavy , or eaten fast. It feels like a thickening/lump in my throat and there is pain, Usually it passes in a minute or so, sometimes it helps if I drink something. A few weeks ago, for the first time it felt like a burp was trapped in my throat. I tried to burp and made a noise but the sensation of constriction remained the same. I could talk fine. This happened just after I had eaten a handful of grapes quickly. Then last night, it happened again. Same feeling like a thickening, pain, trapped burp. Drinking didn't help and I was panicking. I tried to burp and on the second or third attempt I regurgitated liquid. It was water i had just drunk and saliva. It wasn't thrown up but regurgitated. I had taken a bunch of vitamins (quickly) but the feeling didn't happen right away. I read a couple of pages of my book, took a few sips of tea, ate a few pieces of popcorn and that's when I got the feeling. I dread it happening again and feel like I am going to die. Has anyone else experienced this or something similar? I've been in menopause probably almost 2 years now. Have had many strange and annoying symptoms but this one is the scariest,

Hi Erin
I've had the same for 3 years. I had endoscopy just showed mild gastritis.
My period was really early this month and ever since then my acid reflux has returned. I have taken an antiacid for a year now and I had to take one today! usually my probiotics are really effective but it doesn't seem to be working.
I feel like someone's strangling me and I can feel my acid gargling away in my stomach and ostephagas.
I hate acid reflux it's so debilating

Thank you so much for your reply. Sorry to hear you have bad acid reflux. The weird thing is that my stomach didn't feel funny at all. I've been thinking I should take a probiotic. Aside from some random yogurt eating, I don't take one. I've noticed that some teas include probiotics, but I wonder if it's enough to make a difference. Maybe I'll try some anyway.

No, I haven't experienced any of those issues. Curious what the relation to the throat thing is though?

It does sound like reflux. It does help not to eat heavy foods or too fast -- instead, smaller meals more frequently, and healthier foods. And work on managing anxiety. Hang in there X

Thanks for the tips. Everything you suggested makes sense. The anxiety is certainly making everything worse. Appreciate your support!
