Not sure what drug you're on now. Omeprazole (20mg) & lansoprazole (30mg) are both PPIs (as are pantoprazole (40mg), rabeprazole (20mg), esomeprazole (20mg), dexlansoprazole (30mg), ilaprazole, picoprazole, tenatoprazole and timoprazole. All are as effective as each other when taken in equivalent dose but some are tolerated better by some patients. Where shown the figures represent the low maintenance dose but it can be commonly doubled for a while (under supervision of a doctor). I was actually on 80mg omeprazole for years prior to fundoplication surgery.

PPIs are the best way to reduce acid but that's really all they do. You must also help by identifying and reducing your own particular trigger foods. However, if acid's not your real problem, you'll need to find a way of dealing with whatever that is. For me it was reflux, hence the surgery.

If your symptoms are immediately after food (post prandial), keep a food diary to see which foods are the worst culprits. Try eating smaller portions slowly and chew them well before swallowing.

It could be, however, your stomach issues are not caused by acid hypersecretion but bacterial infection. Have you been tested for H-Pylori?

It may be your stomach's not emptying quickly enough. You may need to be tested with a Barium meal.

There could be so many reasons for your symptoms, I'm sorry it's not as easy as givin a one-size-fits-all solution.
