Feeling Completely Crappy, making my Anxiety Bad

Hi All

went to my doctors because I have had a sore throat for a few weeks, it is a very hot feeling in my throat and ears.

he examined me and said I had fluid behind my ear drums, which was probably causing these. He then suggested that all this could be down to Peri, has anybody else had any of this, he wants to see me in 2 weeks if no better.

thanks Sue

Hi Sue. I suffer from anxiety and saw GP 2 days ago as I've got a constricted feeling in my throat and my neck and shoulders ache like hell. He said I've got a viral infection and I'm going back tomorrow for blood tests where they'll check for thyroid, anaemia etc . It's a horrible feeling as I'm a bit hoarse but no pain. Just this constricted feeling. sad

    Hi sue

I too had fluid behind my ear drum, sent to ent who said he couldn't see anything refered for balance test, and been diagnosed with BPPV beningn positional vertigo, it's awful fullness in the head and behind ears and nose and eyes, I have had this since dec and no resolve yet, I get buzzing all day just in left ear then all of a sudden it bangs across to the other one very briefly.

google BPPV  and see if you have the same symptoms, there are excercises you can do as well.

    hope you find relief soon.

    oooo sue that sounds awful..

they use to say treatment with antihistamines for fluid in the ear..

or antibiotics if caused via an ear infection.

so you have to suffer another two weeks of it then..

lets hope he refers you to a specialist

      Thank you All

he gave me a thorough examination and he is convinced this hot feeling in my throat ears and sometimes eyes is Peri, while I was in with him I got very red on my chest also. Jayneejay He put me on the antihistamines and to be fair they have helped loads, but it's just this hot feeling that keeps happening, is it normal to make your who,e head feel hot too, it doesn't help with me suffering from anxiety I always fear the worst

Sue I had a sore throat that began in the early part of December of 2014.  It last for about 10 days and then came back the week of Christmas and lingered until the middle of January.  I saw my gastro doctor because I have GERD and Barretts Esophagus.  He put me on Ranitidine and Omeprazole for about a month and said if I did see improvement he would have sent me to an ENT.  Fortunately my throat got better. I am on just 300 mg of the Ranitidine.

      Thanks Susan,

it is awful, you panic about every little thing, up until a year and half ago I never bothered about anything, and now I'm a quivering wreck at times.

it is just unbelievable the amount of symptoms you can have, but you do worry that the doctors put everything down to this when in fact it might not be. Sorry to hear about your heart murmur, and hope you feel better soon, this site is great because you don't feel like the only one, and having read a lot of the stuff it does ease my anxiety some what xx

i get heat in my face, ears, chest, neck, belly and down my arms.  it's constant in the evening unless i'm directly in front of cool air or in water.  i'm trying out apple cider vinegar (acv) and 3000mg evening primrose throughout the day to see if it helps.  i don't mind the heat so much (getting used to it and how to cool off), but i don't like waking up with sweaty cleavage.  i've gone 4 nights without the sweating since taking the acv with breakfast and dinner.  i've been reading that daily (DAILY!) exercise helps with the hot flashes and night sweats.  slooooowly working on walking program.  it's tough when you have no energy.

Aha! That's why I bought the E.P. Oil on my mega vits/min spree earlier this week. They were on a 'Special' and couldn't resist that: just couldn't remember what they helped with at the time!!

Not getting the 'heat/flushes' - yet! - but have them ready.

I had it on good authority that "they will come, oh yes, of that be sure" - that coming from my HRT-loving sister of 62 ( she used to terrorise me when we were kids: still doing it now, clearly, rotten cow!). Her major flushes/sweats stopped with HRT.

Read a lot about ACV, in particular its use with weight loss. Glad its working for you:-)

P.S. - Remind me Kristi.....what's a cleavage again??! I think I had one once but like most things, that's disappeared. Maybe find the remnants of it under my armpits, along with the rest of my boobs!!!!:-)

I suppose one positive is that your GP acknowledges there is such a thing as Peri!

I'm thinking you're from the UK? Basing that solely on the "See you in 2 wk"-stance!?

If you were in the US, you'd have been referred to a Specialist asap.

Our old pal Kim explained over there Docs don't mess about poo-pooing patients, in case they miss something serious and get Sued!!

Best way to deal with your anxieties about this until you see your GP again, is to imagine it's Peri-related and will pass.

Reading comments below sorta indicates what it might be. Good too that the Antihist's are working.

Don't forget the Hayfever season is up and running and if the air quality's as bad where you are as it is where I am, we'll all be feeling rough soonsad

    Can up Kiddo:-)

      Hi Shaznay

yes I'm from the uk, other than all this I feel good...lol, I have had so many health checks and blood tests everything clear.

i agree with you it is good that he is thinking down these lines and not just thinking I am a raving hyprocondriac (hope I have spelt that right).

i am sure I will get to the bottom of it and the antihistamines he gave me have worked a lot, first time I have had allergies if that's what it is. Once again Thanks Sue xx

The sun's out Sue. That'll cheer us up.....unless you're like me and have to slather on Factor 50?! Being fair haired/skinned is no fun. My and Boris Johnson sport the same kind of 'tan' - bright pink faces!:-) :-)

But when the flushes do eventually start for me, I'll blame it on the sun burn:-) !!

      Enjoy your Day

I'm dealing with the anxiety as well. I went to dentist and they take BP there and it was pretty elevated, they told me to go to family doctor so I did on Saturday and BP was very high. Needless to say I'm taking BP meds. My weight is up and I told him I feel anxious all the time. He gave me med to take for it but I haven't started it because I'm scared of side effects. I started on med for my bad indigestion so that is 2 new meds. Didn't want to add a 3rd. I just have very few good days. My job is stressing me out and I wish I could just stay home. Home so many fears especially fear of dying. Only get hot flashes occasionally but when I do I feel so weak I have to lay down and it feels like my sugar is crashing. This is just such a difficult thing to deal with. I hate peri menopause!
