Hoping someone can shine some light on what I'm going through,. I'm 25 and a year ago I came off the dianette pill which I was in because I had bad acne and I was diagnosed with edomitrosis and since coming off it I've had very irregular periods my acne has got worse my skins so oily I have to wash my face 3 times a day. I'm getting pains in my pelvic and groin and I've also gained weight yet I'm not doing anything different if anything I'm eating less then I used to. Anyone else had these problems? I've been referred for a pelvic scan hope they find something out .

    Hi Kylie,

Have you been tested for PCOS before?

A pelvic scan will definitely show if you have polycystic ovary syndrome. I can relate to the pelvic pain and weight gain and irregular periods are the most common symptom of PCOS..

    Hi Kylie,

I am 35 and was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 19. Its tough but i think I have started to understand it all alot better after plenty of research over the years.

The oily skin is part of it and a change in your soap, makeup and cleansing can help this. I have derma rollers on my face to help with the skin and the spots too.

I have excess body hair but I went to the extremes of buying a laser and removing it myself so it reduces the growth. Im not telling you to buy one Im just trying to help you understand how things can be managed.

Pelvic pain is a nightmare and it comes and goes whenever it likes but a good regular pain killer can help. I take metformin daily to help with the weight loss, im not saying its a cure but it has helped me Have you had a look at PCOS diets on google? You'd be surprised with some of the things you eat might be causing your weight loss efforts to be harder than they need to be.

I was also give orlistat buy my doctor to help with my weight loss as I have gained about 3 stone more than I should at the moment.

I hope this helps and hasnt confused the life out of you. Im here if you want to chat at anypoint xx
