I needed to see this, I am in week 4 and struggling greatly - waking up at 4-5am with anxiety has been draining me!

hi Emma that's great and really encouraging. I am 4 wks 4 days in on 50mg and feel ok. my sleep is still very up and down mainly sleeping 3 hours then waking up going to loo then trying to back to sleep. This is then on and off until I get up at 7am. mind you I would rather this and less anxiety during the day. I am hoping I will feel a bit better still in next 2 wks as still having little blips or anxious thoughts. If not I do have the option to go up to 100mg but worried about going through side affects again. what mg are you on ?

Same here Emma week 3 and panic and anxiety driving me to despair. Diazapam provides a little relief. Doctor again next week and wish I didn't have to read out to him the same list of symptoms

diazepam didn't do much for me apart from make me more anxious when it wore off. my gp gave me 80mg twice daily slow release propranolol which are beta blockers. I take 1 morning and 1 night and they have really helped keep me keep calmer. It doesn't stop the thoughts but helps with the physical symptoms. I was against meds before as never had anxiety before Xmas but both the sertraline and betas seem to be helping me I am 4 and a half wks in on meds. hope

      this helps.

Yes it's prob the toothache and the cold. I have just got the over the flu which made my anxiety bad in weeks 3-4 but like u I am def feeling better than I was thank god!!! I honestly thought they were not working but for the past week I have been WANTING to go out and do things. I know it's still early days and there will be ups and downs but I am so thankful I am now having more ups than downs x

snap! even when I have been bad I have made myself go out apart from day 6 so that I didn't get anxious about doing 1 particular things or being in 1 particular place. like you I keep going on and stay positive. hope I say that when a bad day hits. I am looking forward to the day I am not worrying about it coming back ☺

Yeh me to lol. We will get there. Anxiety is bloody horrid and I would not wish this on anyone!! They do say it only happens to the strong ones , and I think I agree now. Keep me updated on how your going and I will do the same. So glad we're both seeing the positives now after so much negative x

hi vikki thought I would check in and see how your doing? I am now 5 wks 2 days in feel a lot better. Have odd moment of anxiety early morning whilst in bed but don't worry about this as feel ok when I get up. I had my tooth extracted thurs and coped fine with this so happy about that. The worry thoughts about health, money etc have also lessened I am so glad!

hi Emma I am just over the 5 wk mark on 50 mg and feel a lot better however I am also on propranolol twice daily. I had never had anxiety before Xmas so struggled to cope with it but feel ok at the Mo. how much sertraline are you on? I hear different people need different maintenance levels my gp suggested upping to 100mg but happy on 50 at the Mo. what symptoms do you still have? I glare a little anxious and get night sweats early hours but this is nothing compared to how I felt before

Hey nat, I've been feeling the anxiety trying to creep in, but it's been ok. I'm 6 weeks 5 days now and got my review with doc on Monday morning. I had an amazing week last week and half of this week where I was feeling back to my old self but back to having the anxiety trying to creep but it hasn't surfaced so that's a good thing I suppose. X

Hi Emma. It will get better!! U have come this far and it's still early days and u should start to have good days soon. I have found I have good days and bad days but the bad are not as bad as they used to be. Just hang in there and distract yourself as much as possible x

hi vikki good to hear from you. stick with it hun! I also have my review next wk and have option to go up to 100mg but not sure? not sure I can go through side affects again mind you gp thinks shouldn't be as bad as sert already in symptom. not sure

Yeh I'm abit hesitant to up my dose if needed as don't want to start from the beginning again with side effects. If I do I might go up to 75mg but not straight to the 100mg as it's a big jump. I would like to give the 50mg abit more time though as it has made me feel better than I was before so I'm going to give it til week 8-12 I think then maybe up the dose x
