Congratulations on your THR, hopeful your recovery is as smooth as mine has been...my THR was an unscheduled emergency event, so I had no time to think about what I was getting myself into. I just turned 51 this pas June and I had my THR done shortly after my injuries from the Ecuadorian earthquake revealed I had shattered my femur head when I dislocated and fractured my hip...on April 16th of this year. The first three weeks I used lots of ice to keep swelling down and very little pain meds. I followed the Dr's post op instructions to the letter...do this and I think you will be up and at um before you know it

What day is yours scheduled for again Linda? I am having a hard time keeping up with who's is when...Sorry....wishing you luck. I got all pre-registered at the hospital today. So I am done with all of the procedures and things pre-op....Now just nervously waiting for the day...Good luck...Barb

I'm not until September 20th! Seems so near yet so far. But I will get to spend a week with friends at their cottage - beautiful place and people.
Some days the exhilaration outweighs the trepidation other days ... not quite. Oh well, as the song says: What will be, will be ...
Wishing you a brilliant recovery.

Oh and the same to you Linda, I will keep you in mind. Hope all goes well for you...talk about trepidation....Oh I just so want it over with so I don't think about it anymore either. Had my pre-registration at the hospital today, and all my pre-op things are done. Didn't have to do as much this time as they are able to still use the ekg, chest ex-ray from last time. So I am ready to go, just waiting for that day to arrive. Wishing you well....Hugs...Barb
