Feeling less anxious!

Hi All thanks for all the comments. I feel more relieved about have to start Methotrexate. I too like a little alcohol and I know it's a small price to pay but I feel with the Xmas priod coming up I may find it difficult . I'm 40 and do like my w/e wine.

I've got a Friday night planned and have to start taking the medication on the sat. After reading the comments I plan to take it easy.

Did anyone have vomiting and / or diarrhoea when they first started?? Major hair loss??

When I first started taking MTX it made me feel really ill...with almost flu-like symptoms. I take my dose at night so this is no longer an issue.

    Good luck smile

Great idea! Do you consume any alcohol?

I'm not a huge drinker and will see how I go.

I guess I just wondered how others felt after a couple of glasses of wine

You have probably been told not to drink. MTX can affect your liver. I have a glass a week...but Christmas is coming!

Hello Camraf, I have been on MTX for about 3 years for RA. I still feel very sluggish the next day and I find my hair is thinning more than usual, never really had thick hair, but it seems to be falling out alot more now.  I take my MTX on Mondays. I ocasionally like to have a few drinks on Saturday nights, doesn't seem to bother me, never vomit or feel hung over, I know its not good to do but its a little stress release once in awhile. I am about to start Enbrel in the near future and will have to stay on the MTX, feeling a little anxious about that. Does anyone have any suggestions for the hair loss

It's scary NellieMD to hear about the hair loss as a side effect. I take my medication on d Tuesday, that way any drinking over the weekend should have flushed out of the system although I don't drink very often
