Feeling like fading away

My mom told my sister that she has had these symptoms 2 times now... While asleep, she has felt as if she has a headache but knows its not a headache and she feels that she is drifting away (as if she is dying). Can anyone tell me what that could be? Why she is feeling like that? Thank you in advance.

Hmmm. Maybe she's having weird dreams?  So she's asleep but feels like she is drifting away? Does she take any new medications?

When she's not sleeping, does she feel ok?  Any anxiety?

sorry about all the questions, just trying to get a little background.

Yes, while she is asleep she feels as is she is drifting away. She says she feels ok when she is going to go to bed. However, when she is feeling as is she is drifting away she has a pressure on her head like a headache but its not a headache. I know that might sound crazy but that's what she says that if feels like.

If it's not to personal, how old is she? Has she been to the doctors? Medication? If this bothers her, please make sure she sees a doctor to rule anything. Hope she figures it out. Hope she feels better.

She is 75 and usually doesn't like to go to the Dr. She is supposed to be taking high blood pressure meds but I know that sometimes she doesn't because she doesn't like the way they make her feel. But I will have to make sure she goes to the Dr to just make sure everything is ok. Thank you for your input.

It could be pressure "headache". That is often from anxiety.  I get that a lot .

However I recommend that she visit her doctor just to have things checked out. It's always a good idea when a person has new symptoms.

You, your sister and mom will have peace of mind.

I was thinking about that because I know she stresses out alot. I will be making sure she goes to see her Dr to make sure everything is okay. Thank you for your input.
