Feeling like I'm crazy

OK so I know I'm probably asking for the impossible but does anyone have any ideas or has anyone been to the same situation. Real quick about me I've had hypothyroid for 25 years plus now my doctors think I may have Hashimoto's. I've taken Levo for 25 years recently started taking Armour Thyroid. And recently decided to make the commitment to start feeling better.

OK so my question is has anyone else had any issues with their relationship. I think my thyroid issues has really taken a toll on my relationship. I have a really great guy who has had tried to help me out through the years we've been together for 10+ years. I know that I can't blame everything on my thyroid. I do believe some of my issues are thyroid related.

So I'm just gonna list of some of my issues and please understand that NOT all of them are stuff that I'm blaming on my thyroid.

1 excessive sleeping. (at least one day out of every week even though I try really hard not to I stay in bed all day. I'm talking like 30 hours. I just can't get out of bed if I have aches and pains all over my body or I get up and I just want to go back to bed but even though I try and I tell myself to get up I just can't do it even when there's things that I want to do and places I want to go I just cannot get out of bed)

2 The brain fog (I have such a hard time concentrating. And sticking to the point . when I'm upset and have something to discuss I find that I literally forget stuff)

3Lost for words ( A lot of times I find myself wanting to describe how I feel or describe anything and sometimes I cannot figure out the exact words to say you'll be on the tip of my tongue but I can't get them out. So now I've noticed over the last couple years we just don't talk about our issues anymore.)

4 I feel like I'm psycho sometimes. (sometimes I find myself driving myself crazy wondering if I'm being talked about or wondering he has more fun when I'm not around. I realize this probably doesn't have anything to do with my thyroid)

Well I don't really know when I'm asking but I just want to know if anyone else has the same type of problems at all or if you had problems in the relationship how do you explain it to your spouse or I don't know any ideas or any input would help).😞

    Hi Rachel

I've had a total thyroidectomy, so no thyroid and totally hypothyroid.  I have only been on Levo for 2 years, before that I was Hyperthyroid.  Firstly, I do not have a problem with sleeping as I don't sleep very much, the reverse but just as debilitating.  Items 2 and 3 explain exactly how I am as well in a complete fog and unable to have a conversation without forgetting my line of thought as people tend to talk over you these days, the only way is to start what you are saying and if they do talk over you just keep on talking; they will eventually stop and you will be able to finish your conversation.  Like you I tend not to join in with conversations, but that just makes me feel isolated, so I do have to force myself to do it.  I have found that if you can't find the right word, just use the most basic of wordsto explain  and tell your friends what is happening, but you have tol earn  laugh at yourself. (very difficult).  Now as to relationships.  I have had problems since my thyroid started playing up, which was about 20 years ago.  I'm not good at talking about certain subjects and this has caused many an argument, so I hope someone else can advise you on that one. The psycho bit, well I think that is anxiety more than anything else, I never used to be the anxious type, I was so layed back I could fall over, but now I find myself worrying about all sorts of things, so you have to use the logical side of your mind and try to put things into perspective,  I do meditation, which really does help.  If you haven't tried meditation, find yourself a class and go for it, it really will help you.

I don't know whether any of this will help, but it might, just knowing your not the only one suffering.
