I don't think propranolol should make you feel depressed. They take quite a while to start working maybe 6 weeks.

I've been on it for years due to migraine and for my anxiety/panic attacks. I have a history of depression through Bipolar dissorder which I take two types of antidepressants for. I've never heard of propranolol causing depression though! I was diagnosed with bipolar before I went on propranolol and I can't say it makes my depression worse, it did make me put weight on though. However it does take a while to reach its full potential within the body. Maybe you should run it by your Dr, it could be coincidence and maybe you need a low dose of an antidepressant. Sorry I can't offer more advice! Hope the depression settles soon.

Side effects are worse in first few weeks, they do slow your heart rate down and can make you tired and put on weight. I take 80 mgs slow release for last few months and my migraines have reduced in severity and frequency, worth persevering with, it's early days for you,

    good luck

Initially I took 80 mg but in split doses. Felt awful confused tired dizzy down Went back and went on 80 mg slow release. Settled on that after couple of months but felt tired hurt all over weight gain and yes yes. Depression. So very low and felt so bad I took myself off the stuff because I needed to feel alive again . Migraines returned and I had bad withdrawal so I got 10 mg tablets and played with the dose so I take 30 mg in the morning 20 at lunch and 20 before bed Seems to suit. Feel brighter no migraines and feel nearly myself again Depression was definitely a major side effect for me. Propanalol stops your body producing so much adrenaline and so my theory is it stops that bit of adrenaline oomph that keeps you going !
