Feeling of dry mouth throat etc - LPR related?

In May last year my mouth started feeling incredibly dry with a tongue that the tastebuds have grown a bit and no scraping will get rid off. I have had some investigations and currently been diagnosed with sicca complex however i saw an ENT last week who think perhaps this is caused by LPR. I have evidence of LPR inflammation and excess mucous. He wants me to go on PPI for 4 weeks and gaviscon 4 x per day.

Issues i was having along with dryness was food not leaving my stomach very fast along with other things like breathlessness, cough etc. I have had to chew gum 24/7 to combat the feeling of dry mouth and throat.

Now im wondering if LPR can cause dry mouth or at least a sensation of dry mouth, or if the dry mouth and constant gum chewing has in fact caused the LPR. I know PPI's can cause dry mouth so im hesistant to try and when i do use gaviscon before bed the next day when i eat i get stomach fullness type pain, food not digesting and more acid which I can actually feel. Again this makes me concerned to do PPI's and gaviscon for 4 weeks. My other theory is as I know excess salivation can be caused by reflux that my mouth has felt more moist lately due to the LPR, if thats the case I kind of dont want to stop it.

Has anyone had issues with dry mouth due to reflux which was solved by getting under control, does anyone have a coated tongue or tatsebuds which are more prominent.
