Feeling of something in eye after cataract surgery

Has anyone had this problem. It has been 2 months since surgery in right eye. Dr checked eye a few times an states hefinds nothing in my eye, but my vision is perfect. This feeling is driving me crazy. He prescribed restatis and

Sustained drops, so far it feels the same.  He said I have slight dry eyes and now he said he doesn't know what is wrong.

When I read your headline,  I immediately thought of dry eye but you appear to have been treated for that.

Are you talking about Systane eye drops and RESTASIS® Ophthalmic Emulsion?  That was all that I could find when I googled what you have written.

I use Liquifilm drops and Lacrilube, which they appear to refer to as an emulsion.  It keeps my eyes comfortable.

You could also have Blepharitis, which makes your eyes feel gritty.  Perhaps you should check with your Ophthalmologist.  Here is a link to read.

Thank you for your reply. Yes iam using restasis giving to me by the surgeon. I went for 2nd opinion by a Retna sp., he stopped the restasis put me on Lotemax for 14 days and then back to restasis and Lotemax for 14 days. I also use Systane gel. Just when I start to feel a little relief from the feeling of something in my eye it starts again. The Retna specialist is also treating me for Blepharitis. My cataract surgeon says he doesn't know what it is.  Two months for the right and I am at my wits end. The left eye is okay, thank God

Many here have had the same problem. I was told that it was because of dryness caused by the preservative in the cheapo eye drops they had initially prescribed.  When my second eye was done I was given individual tubes of preservative free drops that did not cause any problem.

The drops I was given to help the dryness in the first eye took a long time to cure it.

How long does this feeling of something in the eye last. I was prescribed lotemax by a 2nd dr. For 14 days and then back on Restasis for 14 days. Also using Systane drops. Maybe all these are causing my problem. Two months of this torture, I hope intendsintends

We are all different. Presumably it is something used during the procedure that causes the dryness.

Thanks for your reply. It is nice to speak to someone who understands what I am going through. Dr just brushes me off. Now he doesn't know what it is, yet he prescribed Restasis. He said he is going to send me for 2nd opinion in New York city

Hi I know your post is a month old so hope your eye is more comfortable now.

Cataract surgery can cause dry eyes.  I had both cataracts removed and I already suffered from blepharitis and dry eye and they did get worse during recovery.

It is still early days at 2 months.  I use celluvisc eye drops for dry eyes which I find very good.
