Hi, Lisa,  it's not unusual to take a while to recover.  This is major surgery.  It's difficult for some to recover from it--even if there was no infection!  I would suggest that you give yourself 6 months to recover completely,  If you're still not feeling well, you could return to your doctor and ask him or her to check further.  You could have iron deficiency, or thyroid problems, or something else.  Best of luck!

You're so very welcome!  Thanks for letting us know!  Very glad to learn you're feeling better!  Just try to keep being gentle with yourself, nutritious food, rest when you need it! As they used to say, "Rome wasn't built in a day." Take care!

Hi lisa .... I had my gb removed at the beginning of April 2015 and felt run down for about three months.   We then went away for a week's holiday in the sun and that helped considerably.  The advice I would give is to eat nutrionally well, plenty of fruit and veg and drink lots of spring water.   Apart from having an organ removed from my body I think the actual operation took its toll as well.  My mouth was really sore, I thought it was thrush, but my doctor assured me that I was still getting over the op itself.  The vitamin B-complex may help with your energy levels.   Wishing you well.

    Hi Lisa,

I know it has been a while since you posted. I was wondering how your energy level is now? I am 3 months post op and still get so tired. My blood pressure is on low side since surgery 96/60 on most days, thinking this has to do with low energy. Would love to hear back hoping for positive report so I can see the light at end of tired tunnel 🙂

    Thanks

    Wendy
