hi people, please can anyone help? i need to get to the bottom of how i feel. i know you're not doctor's but you may still be able to help. i have had the usual sinus infection type symptoms but tried to combat this by taking nurofen as i couldn't stop the room spinning due to the sinus thing. have any of you known your stomach especially getting really sharp pain from taking nurofen, it's also left me really bunged up, i have not had this for months and months due to taking gluten out of my diet. i would like to find out if nurofen irritates the stomach? if so what do i do about it? thanks sorry for the waffle!

It can give you stomach problems if you take it for lengthy periods. Try taking paracetamol instead.

thanks for your reply, whatever happened i felt really grim. i don't take paracetamol as it makes me physically sick, luckily i feel a little bit better today. can i ask would it cause sharp pain under your ribs and all over your stomach?

Yes quite possibly. Your dizziness from sinus problems sounds more like vertigo. Do you get this a lot? Have you tried taking antihistamines rather than pain killers?

hi Martina, i don't know what i have done but i still feel ghastly. i started off with awful pain in my stomach where i could not eat for 24 hours, but at the same time my ears were incredibly sore and talk about dizziness! in addition my throat has been sore i have felt sick but also had the sharpest stomach pain not long after taking nurofen. oh i also was hot and cold for a couple of days. i wouldn't wish this on anyone, it's been shxx! in terms of medication I already take cetirizine and due to huge problems with antibiotics i have an ear spray called otomize, something for the dizziness (it's called prochloperazine). i just hope i get better. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

It sounds like some sort of viral infection and its certainly affected you badly. Viral infections are usually just treated with medication to try and relieve the symptoms, and then just rest, drink plenty of water and wait for your body to sort it out. These sort of infections can leave you feeling weak for some time.

hi Martina, thanks for your reply. i think it was some sort of bug. i certainly wouldn't want anyone to have this! i think i have now got rid of it but my poor bowel is playing catch up. they knock me for sick and leave me with no appetite. i blame it on the DWP, i was speaking to them before i got ill lol! i am mending. thanks
