Feeling something stuck in my throat

Hello, for some time i feel like something is stuck down my throat and i cant get it out, no matter if i cough or spit. It kinda feels like phlegm but I'm not sure and its annoying. I also think I have tonsil stones because I removed one with a q-tip but i cant seem to get more out (they're not visible). I brush my teeth and tongue 2 times a day and use mouthwash as well. Do you think the feeling is because of the stones? Pleaase help.

    Hi Sarah,

This sounds awful! I would definitely see your dentist or GP I can't think what is actually causing it, but if you got one stone out it could be there are others too.

    Have you had a fever?

I have just been reading about tonsil stone and it doesnt sound very pleasant.

Let me know how you get on please, I am intrigued by this.

    Take care

Thanks for the reply! No, fortunately I don't have other symptoms other than the annoying feeling in my throat. Nothing hurts either:)

      This is an odd one!

Are you happy just to live with it, or would you like to get it resolved?

I know if it were me, it would drive me nuts!

    You should

    1. See your family doctor and if she or he can't solve the problem then
    2. Ask for a referral to an ear, nose and throat specialist who will look down your throat.

It could well be inflammation, which depending on the type could go away on its own OR will require

    antibiotics.

    Good luck

    Hi,

I have a very similar issue and just wondering if you ever figured it out. I have already been to ENT and gastroenterologist for tests and no real answers yet 😭 it is miserable!
