Just in case my other post doesn't get posted.  The answer is simple. HS is caused by food-related reactions.  Try going Paleo or try Autoimmune protocol.  Do a search and you will see how the cure is in your hands.

I am so sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble. I have HS too and I have tried everything. I am taking DoxiTab right now and I don't really think it is goign to help but I am trying. There are a lot of people who say that smoking and being overweight are things that make it worse, and there are a lot of people who say that maybe it is a form of food allergy or an immune problem. No one can say for sure because sometimes a treament works for one person, but it does absolutely nothing for another person.

I think you should pay close attention to when it gets worse and what happened around that time. One thing is that you should NEVER shave anywhere that you have pumps or lumps and you should not scrub hard at these places. I used to think that I was not washing well and so I would scrub and scrub in the shower and it made it much worse, so don't do that. But wash gently with an acne baody wash or try a bady detergent like DEXIDIN or something like TRICLOSAN whihc are gentle antibacterial soaps. I found that these helped me a lto and I use them every few weeks (its not good to use them all the time).

You should also try TURMERIC capsules which are an anti-inflammatory and some people say that they help. But you should ask your doctor if you are healthy enough to try them. You can't take them while you're on antibiotics because most of them have enzymes that make you unable to digest antibiotics so do talk to your doctor first.

Unfortunately there is no single answer anyone can give you. Only suggestions and personal opinion on what the causes and solution is. But you are not alone. There are others suffering this with you and it is so hard. Just be strong and keep trying different things. Don't give up and rememebr that sometimes it takes 6 months or more for something to change. If you try a new diet, it might take several months, or even a year for you to see a difference. Or if you try turmeric it might take a whiel for you to see a change.

You should also go see more than 1 doctor and get some differnet opinions on what you can do. Be strong and don't give up. One thing you can look forward to is that most people are one day clear of this, it is just a matter of when and how but it will come.

    hi

yes it is a horrible disease and can ruin your life, when you speak to other people who don't have it they think it is just like a boil and don't know why you are making a fuss!! it's the chicken and egg, if you are stressed and depressed you are likely to get it, when you do get it they make you stressed and depressed. Insist on seeing a dermatologist not a surgeon and get long term antibiotics like for a year.

    good luck with it all

Nightshade vegetables aggravate mine. HS is an autoimmune condition and nightshades can make autoimmune conditions worse.   I have started avoiding nightshades and am now in remission! If I accidentally eat a nightshade, I will have a cyst flare up. Eating out is rare.  I have to watch every ingredient! I've had HS for years and was in stage 4. I've tried everything.  Finding a forum on here about nightshades was my miracle from God!
