Feeling super tired on sertraline

Hi my wife is feeling so much tired from few days. She is sleepy all the time and get tired easily.

Is it because of sertraline??

Will it go away soon??

    Hi Maniyaar,

    Sertraline can definately cause drowsyness. It made me feel very tired.

    Your Wife may get used to her dose of Sertraline and be less tired over time.

      She is on Sertraline 100mg from 18th july

      First few weeks she had so bad insomnia then after 2-3 weeks it’s started to get better and now from few days she has been saying she is feeling so much sleepy and getting tired easily.

      Hi Maniyaar,

      Both Insomnia and Drowsiness are listed as 'Common Side Effects' of Sertraline.

      All you can do is support your wife as these symptoms occur.

      I  too on 100 MGS since Sept 11th.  At first few days I groggy great then started getting tired so easy that I say all day and started at the TV.  The last two days I have taken naps so if got worse now and I'm Just waiting and hoping it passes soon!  If your wife has been tired too long she should talk to her doctor.

    I think we all react differently to medication. I had so much energy on Sertraline. I was never tired on it even if I slept 4-5 hours. I am on Venlafaxine now and feel tiredness and exhaustion all the time. If this tiredness does not go away maybe she will have to try a different med.
