Something is very very wrong with my health and my body I do not feel normal I think any day will be my final day I am scared and I do not know what to do..

the hospital will not give me a diagnosis nor will my doctors office I've had anxiety in the past but I feel this is more sinister I'm Soo afraid.

I've tried to get the proper answers I've seen my family doctor and emergency room doctors and a few specialist but now I feel to sick to even leave the house and God knows at age 26 I'm not ready to die..

people talk like they can relate but it's whole nother level it really is I am afraid and I do not know who to talk to no one takes me serious my family thinks it's mental and it's all in my head but I know it's not I'm in my body I know what I feel

I do not know what has happened I fear someone has poisoned me I literally think my eyes will shut and my breathing will stop at any moment and it's not because I think that it's because I feel the symptoms of being sick...

I feel a tightness in my chest and a severe shortness of breath that is undescribable it's is absolutely horrifying and what makes me think it's life threatening is it is literally non stop meaning I get no relief taking a shower takes breath cooking makes it worse leaving my bed makes it worse..

Thank you all the people who have talked to me on here in the past if u see my post it means alot I wish y'all the best with your life...

don't take nothing for granted love the ones who love you and enjoy your life while you can because when u feel good u don't think about the future..

Did all of your testing come out normal? Did the doctor say it could be due to severe stress and anxiety? Keep in mind that stress and anxiety can definitely cause extremely severe symptoms. When I was  27, I was terrified because I had symptoms from head to toe. I thought I had  some terrible disease.

. I had numbness in tingling in my arms and legs, floaters in my eyes, difficulty breathing, muscle twitching all over, lightheadedness, foggy thinking,  to the point I could not get off the couch, rapid heart rate, when I woke up in the morning it felt like something was laying on my chest that’s how severe the shortness of breath was. At that time there was no Internet support so I literally felt like I was the only one in the world with this! I thought I was dying. My dad took me to a neurologist  and every test was normal. I could not believe it but it was true. After months of this, I started thinking about my life and how I had internalized every fear, anxious moments, to the point where they built up and up over the years. Finally, the body can only take so much stress before it has a breakdown and that’s what happened.  It’s like the straw that broke the camels back. I worked hard at D stressing, relaxing my mind and body and put myself first for a change. I started listening to relaxing meditation, regular exercise, eating healthy and enjoying the simple things in life.

The key is to get your stress under control. If you have had normal testing done, then you can pretty much believe that this symptoms are stress related. Think about your own life and what is going on? What is stressing you out?

Go to YouTube and learn the proper breathing technique to gain control over anxiety and breathing. There is one called mindfulness breathing guided meditation 10 minutes. Many to choose from.

Also listen to some short meditations for anxiety and stress. They helped me a lot and still do! When you get anxious, all your symptoms will get worse so relax your mind as best you can. I also went to counseling which helped a lot.

you just need to learn how to manage the stress better. If your doctors are not giving you a diagnosis then put the thought of going out of your mind. I thought the same thing but I want to tell you that I am now in my 50s and none of that ever killed me. Take control of yourself, treat yourself well because you deserve it.

take one day at a time. When I get stressed out I still might get a few of those symptoms here in there such as shortness of breath but I immediately take control of it. You’re going to be OK! ??😁👍

I've seen many people on here post exactly the same concerns as you, and you all seem to have one thing in common: You don't think anxiety can cause such severe physical symptoms. And I'm sorry to say this, but you are soo so wrong lol.

I've had so many physical symptoms of anxiety, each one as uncomfortable and upsetting as the next. I had muscle tension in my neck/head that was so bad it was giving my cluster headaches (little painful sharp zaps in the side of my head), and my shoulder would be so tight it hurt to even shrug up and down. And these symptoms lasted for 3 months!!

I've also had a time with such bad, tight chest pains that it was painful to even laugh. I felt like my chest was being stabbed with knifes on and off all day. This lasted for 2 months!

I've had panic attacks where I'm so dizzy I would see black spots and couldn't even walk straight, I'd almost faint. I've also had panic attacks where my arms and face would go completely numb and I would sweat so bad I could actually see the sweat droplets on my arms.

I know that it's frustrating and so frightening, but if you've been checked by doctors and they tell you it's anxiety than thats what it is. Just bc you THINK you are dying does NOT mean you are. That's what anxiety is, irrational and uncontrollable fears.

I highly suggest seeing a therapist, one who specializes in anxiety. I do and it helps me a lot!

I know it's so uncomfortable and definitely emotionally and physically draining, but yeah see - you had a CT scan done and everything is fine. That's how you know it's just anxiety. If something was wrong it would show on one of these tests or the doctors would be concerned!

Hi there. You do have a very severe form of anxiety, specifically health anxiety with agoraphobia it sounds like and depressive disorder. And unfortunately you're stuck in a self destructive loop at the moment.

I note that all your posts are to the anxiety forum, not to other medical forums. So I guess what I'm wondering is where this deep routed fear that all the doctors, hospitals, family and others are lying to you coming from? Is there a deeper trigger that is convincing you the tests would be falsified or the doctors be incompetent? Honestly there's no incentive for those in the medical profession at least to withhold or deliberately not give you answers. They'd lose their jobs for that.

You are right in that it isn't just in your head, your body is truly creating these symptoms. But it's creating then based on the fight/flight response from the anxiety.

Please please please consider therapy and anxiety medication if you've not already tried it. x

The constant need to take a deep breath and the feeling of being short if breath is terrifying I sigh and I yawn all day long begging to get a deep satisfying breath and as soon as I get the deep breath it's relief then the search for a deep breath starts over it is literally all day long no matter what I do or how I think it does not go away that cannot be anxiety

It's truly something if a person does not feel what I feel literally every minute of the day they cannot relate the only explanation I can come up with that is not life threatening is I have create a in balance of co2 and oxygen in my blood and my body feels short if breath Because my over breathing has caused a rise in my co2 levels

You're right, I can't personally relate myself to this specific symptom, just as I imagine most doctors cannot personally relate to every illness they treat. But they are trained analyse and diagnose and they wouldn't knowingly all be withholding information from you on the basis of not having experienced it.

I did a quick look and I don't normally endorse this because Google is generally the devil when it comes to googling illnesses, but I just feel so awful that no answer is of any comfort to you and that this forum is not giving you any confidence or relief. I saw lots of posts about people with similar symptoms ranging from anxiety, obesity, smoking, allergies and the most common mention i could see was hyperventilation.

In terms of hyperventilation, I found this:

"Anxiety is often the culprit of having to take deep breaths. They often can create a vicious cycle, with stress exacerbating breathlessness, which in turn causes increased anxiety. Hyperventilation occurs when breathing is quicker and deeper than normal, which leads to decease of carbon dioxide, or CO2 in blood and you will feel lightheaded, and be short of breath.

Vivid dreams or nightmares; tingling and numbness of hands, feet, and area around mouth; yawning or sighing; sensation of needing to take a deep breath; panic attacks; feeling of being spaced out, faint or dizzy, episodes of weakness and exhaustion; muscle spasms, twitching, cramp, aching."

I saw something called Emphysema as well, but I seem to recall (I think, apologies if this wasn't you) that you'd already seen a pulmonologist so this would have been detected then. It's also picked up in chest x-rays and bloods.

Short of above, have you been tested for asthma or allergies? I'm assuming with all you have been through you must have but if not, ask your Dr.

If they still say it's anxiety, which honestly can cause symptoms all day (as I say I can't relate to this one specifically myself but I've had pins/needles in the right side only of my face for 3 weeks solid before, despite not 'feeling' anxious) then I would look to book yourself into an anxiety rehab/ clinic program or support group.

I truly hope you find what you are looking for and hope that you eventually get the treatment you need. xx

Yes I was tested for asthma and had a CT scan done today and blood work and chest x-ray and urinalysis had a pulmonary function test showed mild abnormalities nothing severe.

the pulmonologist said he said his only suspicion is vocal cord dysfunction or it's caused from anxiety.

it is literally a sensation of having to sign or yawn every 15 seconds to try to expand my lungs and get a deep satisfying breath.

I've had many symptoms related to anxiety and panic and I can deal with them no problem but this feeling of being suffocated all day long is taking it's toll on my quality of life.

I've been evaluated by doctors at least 15 times since this has started literally going into the ER thinking I am dying and prepared to die that day and prepared to be air lifted to another hospital only to be told that it is related to anxiety.

I've had anxiety for years like 7 years of intense panic attacks and phobias and fears and never experienced shortness of breath all day long like I do now it is Terrifying but it has not killed me yet so I am fortunate of that.

I do not know what to do though because I genuinely want the sensation to go away if it from anxiety and I do not know how to treat it or combat it in order for it to go away.

Chronic hyperventilation syndrome is the only non life threatening anxiety manifested condition I can think of that I do have I've got all the symptoms I just don't know if it being constant as in every minute of every hour is indicative of chronic hyperventilation syndrome.

I've just looked up HSV/CHSV and it certainly does seem to fit the profile of everything you've described.

I don't know if this is a possibility but I've just read that some places/hospitals include a Respiratory Centre/clinic or can refer you to a respiratory physician to help you analyse your condition/breathing disorder and support you with a treatment plan - are there any near where you are?
