Feeling terrible

Hi,

I've been taking Sertraline for several months now. I started on 50mg then the doc put it up to 150mg. two weeks ago the doctor decided to take it up to 200mg as I was still experiencing panic attacks and also I wasn't sleeping. She did give me some sleeping tablets to help with that, but it's not a long term measure and when I don't take them, I don't sleep. The worst thing is that this last couple of weeks since the dose has gone up I have felt absolutely terrible. I just can't find any enthusiasm for anything. I want to just curl up somewhere and let everything go to pot. My hubby is suffering because he doesn't know what to do to help and when he shows me any affection I shrug him off.

I can't carry on this way and in fact I'm a little scared...

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I would go back and query whether you need to changed to something else, doesn't sound they are working for you. My experience is they interfere with sleep pattern, depending on when you take them. Start by discussing it all with  a pharmacist they are far more knowledgable about drug effectiveness etc

    good luck

Thank you for the reply. I did question it last time because it didn't seem to be doing much that wasn't good. I have to go back next week but I don't know if I can wait that long.

I'm just thankful that I have a docs appointment next week. I can't go on feeling like this. It's affecting my family now. Will insist on a change. Thanks x

Saw the doctor today. She was more than a little reluctant to change my medication but has given me amitriptyline to take at night to help me sleep and she said that it would work with the sertraline to help my anxiety.

Anybody had any experience of taking these two things together?

    Thanks
