FEELING UNWELL...IS IT Candesartan

Posted , 4 users are following.

Have been taking Candesartan for a while now but have been suffering from muscle aches and pains, joint pains, pins and needles and worse of all awareness of my heart beat which wakes me from sleep at night. The doctor did not seem overly concerned when I last visited him but I am not really happy. Will talk to him again on my next check up but since I suffered a heart attack 2 years ago I am naturally concerned that these tablets could not be helping. Has anyone suffered similar problems please and if so what did they do.

Presumably you are also taking other tablets, including statins? Any one of the heart related tablets could cause this, I have had similar experiences at night and actually I was taking the Candesartan before I went to bed, but I changed that to the morning and things got better...

    Hello,

I am so interested to hear of your experiences because it is happening to me as well. I was put on Candesartan 4mg daily about 8 weeks ago now and almost at once suffered horrible back pain, acid reflux , loss of focus, pains in hands and feet and worst of all numbness and elecrical shock feelings in my hands. My gp says it is not the medication and I am seeing a cardiologist soon as well as a rheumatologist, but am feeling that I am having the wool drawn over my eyes and not being told anything. Why for instance should back pain be mentioned as a side effect, but not why? I am not hopeful and intend asking some questions. Have also listed all the side effects suffered from all bp medication tried so far to take with me.

Thanks for that Dr Spock. I've changed my textfile so that if/when I post this kind of message again the link is OK.
