Feeling warm and hot flushes - any advice?

I think I'm going through the perimenopause. Periods have gone down to roughly every three weeks - sometimes they'll be heavy and only last a day or so, other times they'll drag out and be fairly light.

Over the last six weeks, I've been feeling generally warmer than normal and also notice that I can easily feel hot. I'm just sleeping under my dressing gown at the moment with nothing else.  I feel worse lying on my front or side which is how I normally sleep, and am struggling to get to sleep just lying flat on my back . I'm the sort of person who is always on the go, so I'm struggling with being busy and activities. Can anyone suggest any natural remedies I could try or give me any advice please.

Exercise too is a good one, I walk 60 minutes a day, 15 morning and 15 night and 30 afternoon. Also 1-2 tablespoons of honey before bedtime helps one sleep too, also I do two exercises before bed that has helped me sleep, I do them as I lay in bed and they have to do with breathing and my eyes when they are closed, sounds strange but it sure has helped me and I have insomnia issues.I send you a private message too!  You do sound like menopause to but as you said the perimenopause which I didn't ever know when I started because of my partial hystorectomy years ago

Hi which type of magnesium do you take? I was taking glycinate and it kept me awake? Thanks xx

A lot of ice water. I have always drank water, but increased the amount during menopause as I was gaining so much weight. Ends up, I never had hot flashes. I really think it is due to the amount of ice-cold water I drink. Cannot hurt to try! Water is good for you!

Thanks for your replies. I will see if I can find a couple of breathing exercises to help me in bed when I can't relax. Also, I'm about to do some research on magnesium. I don't mind drinking water, so will trying chilling some water and increase my intake. Any further advice appreciate as this is all new to me.
