Feels like I’m moving

I will try to be brief. A year ago, I ran on the treadmill for the first time to start exercising. Right after, I felt extremely dizzy and out of it for hours. This symptoms went away for a few days, then I had a bout of panic attacks. I had a sinus infection and fluid in my ears when these happened. Then I started getting this 24/7 out of it feeling like I wasn’t here all the way, and then dizziness and this movement/vertigo feeling. Like when you try to watch TV or try to sit on the couch or go to sleep, I feel like I’m spinning or swaying or that my body is being pulled abruptly or that I’m falling. Doc thought it was anxiety, was put on meds. They didn’t help at all with this. I decided to come off of them and have been for 6 weeks because I feel there’s something else wrong, not anxiety. These feelings make any activity awful, i hate going out and doing things because i never feel well. Seeing an ENT next week, praying for a solution.

Also, I’ve gotten really bad head pressure lately that does not help with this. I’m often lightheaded and tired too. Also have to wear sunglasses in stores because the lights seem to make me feel worse.

This stuff happened to me when I had a sinus cold back in march. Symptoms were...swaying, eyes issues, brain fog amd feeling of being spaced out, feeling of walking in front of my body, ringing in ears, driving bothered me cuz of eyes, grocery stores amd crowded places were too much. My ENT was terrible, so got sent to a dizzy/balance/hearing clinic, amd I have a bunch of tests for it this friday. Hoping for some answers...

Had to wear sunglasses too. Headlights were too strong and noises seemed louder. Some of my symptoms have gotten better except the eye issues. I had anxiety from it too. Super frustrating.

It is very aggravating and even debilitating. Please do update me when you get the results back.  Between coming off anxiety medication to this dizziness, I was freaking out that i had Lyme disease or something since I’ve had this so long. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone.

Based on what I’ve read, I’m guessing I’ve got vestibular neuritis/labyrinthitis. Again assuming that I’m right, I’m going to try vestibular rehabilitation therapy.

Labs is what I was told I originally had from a cold. My ENT told me that's not what it was, amd he was terrible.

I'm a stay at home mom, and when this started I was saying I dot k ow how people with this can go to work and function everyday because it's terrible. So many people on here have these symptoms and the damn docs can't figure it out. A my blood, ct, mri etc came clear. I do believe it's an inner ear issue caused by the labs. I had labrynthitis with nystagmus (eye flutters) from a damn cold. I had to take an antibiotic for something else, and found that amped up the dizziness. I've never been spinning dizzy, just swaying which is a form of vertigo. Rehab I've heard helps wonders, so depending on these tests, we will see what will happen. I will update when I find out.

You are lucky you do not work then. I had planned to get a job this summer between semesters but I just couldn’t. Wishing you a good recovery. I will also update after my appointment.

    Hi Jeff,

I can't run on treadmill at all. I get dizzy for days. It really sucks.

I had similar symptoms like you describe. You should see an ENT and a neurologist just to rule out things. I have seen them and they couldn't find anything wrong with me. yet I was constantly dizzy. I figured I was put on high blood pressure meds and that was making me dizzy. About 4 months after and some valium and antihistamines I felt myself again. Valium really helps with dizziness. I am still not sure what was wrong with me but it went away. Take a deep breath. You will be fine.

Ray, thanks for your reply.  I’m seeing an ENT next Tuesday. I’m heading back to college soon so I don’t think I’ll be able to see a neurologist in time. Valium is prescription med right?

I don’t want you to think you will be like me!  Mine started 2 years ago  feeling like I was on an ocean and couldn’t get off the boat.  I have been to two specialist and a neurologist and had 3 months of PT for the dizziness.   It has gotten a little better my husband doesn’t have to push me in a wheel chair now.   I still cannot drive but about 15 minutes with out getting sick.  Some days the ocean has big waves some days smallerones.   There is nothing more the doctors can do for me.   I am praying for healing and working with a naturalist to see what issues my body is having.  If I’m in the car for more than an hour I have to take a Valium and a meclazine or I am puking along the road.  I had never been car sick in my life before this!  It has been very hard to deal with.  I am applying for disability because I haven’t been able to work in two years

Well the ENT got me in today, but everything was normal and he said I didn’t have an ear problem. I’m very confused now.

Yup, sounds like the way my ent apt went, along with many others on here. They can't see inside your ear, so don't give up hope!! I live by a dizzy clinic, do you have one in your area? I'm in ontrio canada..

They can see in your ear l had a CT scan on the 8th canal on my ear have been having vestibular exercises for your moving Sensation?

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s anxiety dizziness. I found a really helpful article that says it’s pretty much a constant dizziness and you don’t have to be anxious for it to happen. I don’t know about a dizzy clinic, but I’m going to try vestibular rehabilitation therapy at a local hospital, it would help  both with anxiety dizziness and an ear problem anyway.

Yes, ct scan can show inside your ear, I've had the same thing, but an ENT, who he saw, cannot at the office. Thats why I was saying they can't see inside because he was at an ENT apt, and they basically dismissed him like mine did saying nothing was wrong with his inner ear.

I went to a balance clinic last week, and have negative pressure in my ear they found, so need more tests this friday which do balance, eyes, ear function etc...but I wear machines that pock these things up, not just some ent doing basic tests that a regular gp could do.
