feels like menstrual pain in my ovary from operated hip

This is a strange question but have any of you felt as though you have ovarian pain from your operated hip? I'm 57 and starting through Menopause so it's not menstrual pain. But it just feels like something's pressing on my right ovary at times causing discomfort.

Thanks!

Cant say I have felt anything like that!  All I know is groing pain is not good. Not to sound strange but could it be the dreaded...constipation?

Since I take Vicodine everyday for my chronic pain, I also take a laxative every few days. I never really paid attention to that. I guess I'll have to keep a record to see.

      Thanks for the advice Annnette!

That could be a seperate health issue. Plz see your dr ASAP. I never experienced any pain in that area. Usually in crotch and rear, theigh, knee, back all the usual suspects after THR . Never pressure wher you describe.

Keeping a record of the pain/discomfort is a good idea. I think it could be an entirely different issue to your hip and it would be a good idea to see your doctor. It is so easy to assume all aches and pains are to do with the op, sometimes they are nott

Hi miele, before my hip was replaced five weeks ago, I had awful pain in my left ovary site, I kept going to the dr, eventually they did a scan on my ovary, it wS my only one left, they found a cyst. I thought at last my pain will be gone but two years later still had the same pain , had xray they sawy left hip was bone on bone, I dont know why , but I still ache around that area. Please get your dr to listen to you. I am forty nine and have been menopausal for nearly three years. I no know that is was mainly my hip causing the pain.so im hoping as I start waybetter it will go . Good luck ypu will be free of pain soon, love hugs xx

I do have cysts on my left ovary but not on my right. I will be having a pelvic ultrasound in a few weeks so we'll see what happens from there.

Angie I was scared to death! My PCP had given me Xanax prior to surgery and I had spinal with sedation. I felt nothing. I heard nothing. The last thing I remember was saying good-bye to my family then waking up in the recovery room and the nurse telling me to wiggle my toes.

I had so much pain prior to my surgery and now I have just some residual discomfort at times but not pain. I will be having my other hip done in the spring. Recovery for me has been long but it was well worth having it done! I don't regret it for a minute!

      Good luck to you!
