Hi Jason, before i was diagnosed with RA/PMR i had the most dreadful pain in my feet, difficult to walk and putting on shoes and slippers, releif when sitting down. Once dignosed, put on meds it went away and i have never had it since. Pleanty pain in other parts of my body though. Its bizzare.

The foot contains 26 bones and more than 30 joints. Many people experience pain involving one or more of these joints. The pain may be accompanied by swelling, tenderness, stiffness, redness and bruising and/or increased warmth over the affected joints. It is initially treated with rest, elevation and limitation of walking /weight bearing on the painful foot. Use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, and ice can help to reduce local inflammation and pain. Other care also needs to take such as shoes shaped like your foot, rubber soles to provide more cushioning. Exercise can help keep your feet pain-free, strong and flexible such as Achilles stretch, big-toe stretch, toe pull, toe curl.

I have always had flat feet . I had a bunion op at 16 , the surgeons wanted to do the right too , which wasn't as bad . After almost 40 years it started growing . I have been told it is due to flat feet & have finally got built up insoles from the orthopaedic clinic . It took 6 months & 10 appointments to get any treatment . Maybe insoles to create an arch will help . I did yoga for 30 years but it didn't give me arches - as a couple of yoga teachers said it would .
